I've been using them for two seasons now; very pleased w/ their performance. My main objective was the simplicity of balancing after removing & replacing my own tires.

Getting close; did 480 miles last Sat; new bike is literally laugh out loud in my helmet fun. Even 240 miles in 35 degrees. 850 miles each way to TN w/ MLW will be

Anybody else getting antsy for a ride to Tennessee?
Had some good weather here lately; taking the bike in for break-in service next Sat.
Will be ready to roll when the time comes; only 3 gas stops to get there.

Leaning an R vs. leaning a GSA
Hard to believe, but MLW says I'm way more aggressive in cornering & riding w/ the GSA than w/ the R. The R's rear; even after my most spirited ride following our local club president; http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k207/daryl_stamp/DSC09675.jpg The front; http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...

Will we be called posers if we wear them on something other than an R?

If Lehigh Valley is near the Cabellas on the Northeast Extension then take it over to Hermy's BMW. Really good folks. I've put over 36,000 miles on mine since August of '06 and I live in NY, where there's lots of snow. Everybody I've met that used to have an 1150R says they regret getting rid of it....

Re: 100 Days Until Harriman Bash
MLW has insisted that we attend. Just got off the phone w/ the nice folks @ the Best Western and have our res for Fri & Sat. Mapquest shows it's 855 miles from our house, so it'll be a few days down and a few days back. We're up for meeting any other Yankee's on the way down, but we've done the ...

Bash within the FL Rally would be OK; but the low-key small group flavor of the Beakster Bash would definately be lost.
I advocate keeping it a separate event.
Retired geezers or those w/ lots of spare time are more than welcome to attend both.
So far we have

BE VERY CAREFUL TO CANCEL THE BLINKERS AFTER A TURN: SOMEONE MIGHT PULL OUT IN FRONT OF YOU THINKING THAT YOU ARE GOING TO TURN.

Also appropriate safety procedure for returning home in the event that front wheel falls off; as seen on "Triumph Rocket III Modern Manufacturing" clip on Youtube (can't access Youtube from China; so you'll have to find link on your own).

It happened to me once by accident; felt pretty cool.
Overall, however, it doesn't seem like such a great idea.

You still riding in Singapore?
I've heard a lot about it there; everyone says it's very civilized.
Any BMW rentals there?
Would make a fun stop on the way back from Shanghai; could be a Singapore Bash.

Re: Check your bush .... :) It's shocking!
Thanks for the heads up; good info.
I put new Wilbers on last spring but don't remember if they came w/ new bushes or not (I don't think they did).
There's a few months of ice & salt ahead, so now is a good time to check.
Cool workshoes

Re: Travels with Stella! In Appalachia
Nice report. I get a little disconcerted sometimes riding a bike w/ NY tags in MD, PA, WV, VA. In our area, there is a sub-culture we call "Woodchucks"; in reality some of the most outgoing & generous people I've met are part of this sub-culture and possess an amazing amount of resourc...
