Re: Good Rides in Colorado and Vicinity?

Highway 34 between Estes Park and Loveland is a hoot. Everything up there in Summit county is beautiful, however. You'll enjoy it tremendously.

Re: My R1200R is no more...

The insurance company is the proud owner of everything else...even the GPS. Oh well. They compensated me very fairly and like I said, I'm looking at a new bike in about four weeks when I finish my master's degree. If I had a bike now, I'd be thinking, "should I work on my thesis or go for a rid...

Re: My R1200R is no more...

Dodi, No worries about asking. My bike was a standard height since I'm 6'1". The seat was the Low Comfort, but that's the same height (800mm IIRC) as the stock seat. I'm still about four weeks out from another bike purchase, but I'd recommend the R12R in a heartbeat. Also to all: posted the hug...

Re: My R1200R is no more...

My shoulder's fine, just a little sore. I jacked up my rotator cuff pretty good, which I think was from my trying to yank my bike off the fence rather than the crash since I can find no evidence of hitting anything with my left shoulder (my jacket's still in perfect shape). I went to the dealership ...

It's official - the bike is a total loss, says Progressive. I'll have some accessories that weren't in the crash posted for sale here soon.

Re: My R1200R is no more...

All, Thanks for the support and the kind words. My bike didn't have ASC, but it did have ABS. I wanted ASC but the sales guy assured me that I wouldn't need it (ha!). No word from the insurance adjuster today, but the shop is now saying that it *might* be possible to get her back together again if t...

My R1200R is no more...

So I went out on a very nice ride today, taking twisty Texas backroads up and around to Boerne, Texas. Little did I know that it'd be my last ride on my beautiful 2009 R1200R. I was excited because I just got my Nippy Norman's hugger painted and installed last week, so I wanted to get some nice pict...

Adjusting left grip angle

I rotated my handlebars back toward me a few degrees to alleviate shoulder and neck pain (I hope). Changing the angle on the right side grip was easy enough, but I couldn't' figure out how to adjust the left side grip. The right side grip has a clamp that goes around the handlebar (part #7), but I c...

Re: MotoTechniques bar riser question.

Installing my bar risers last week is how I discovered that my torque wrench is a P.O.S. that didn't work, so I basically tightened them down until I had to use more force than I though was a good idea. I know that's a subjective standard, but I think as long as they're tight and are rechecked, you ...
