This is an interesting read, although beyond my electronics experience. I recently had my fourth strip installed and the mechanic claims the new strip was a re-designed part bearing the same part number. Anyone else have confirmation of this?

That is definitely the ANTI-comfort seat. Looks like a low seat to me. Good pics of the comfort seat here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=20701.

There's a similar green wire (with white stripe) on the connector just aft of the diagnostic plug. It's for the alarm system and does the same thing. I'm using it to apply power to my Hyperlight flasher module with no issues. Personal preference and paranoia leads me to stay off the diagnostic plug.

I use a US-20 on my pillion seat; I have no tail rack. It works great and so far not a drop of water has invaded the bag, even in the heaviest downpour. I used the Cee Bailey's on my RT and they worked great. $79 for a set. Not as well made as the BMW ones but much less expensive. I recommend bag liners when packing any pannier- much more convenient when traveling.
