Adios & Vaya con Dios!
After 5 years and 31K, I sold my`09 R12R baby yesterday to fellow Forum member Laura Blake. It wasn't a particularly hard decision. In the past two years, several medical issues have crept in. The worst was arthritis in my neck & knees, which tends to hamper your ability to comfortably ride. As ...

Re: Hugger
There is previous discussion here on hugger rear fenders. DonE then was sceptical about the NN version & how it might make contact with the tire. DonE knows most things about R12R's, and I should have heeded his wisdom. I bought the NN anyway. One my way down to Bikeweek last year, the NN broke ...

Re: fine-tuning the new Cee Bailey's screen
About 10 days ago, DonE lent me his new CeeBailey’s windshield so that I might provide another opinion of it. Today, I finally got around to trying it out. About me: I’m 6’1”, with a 32” inseam. My R1200R has a Russell aftermarket, so that raises me another 2” or so higher than the OEM seat. I use t...

Are you going to be riding two-up? If not, then you could secure the gear laterally behind you.

Re: Another tire pressure question
However on my '03 r1150r the manual made recommendations based on whether riding 1 up, 2 up or 2 up loaded, anywhere from 32f-36r to 36f-42r
This applies to my `09 R12R as well.
Out of curiosity, do you have tires with tubes?

Re: CeeBaileys needs our help, there is a big payoff for all
Its still a work in progress but Joe is relentlessly trying to get the best all around shield possible. He is down to dealing with slight (although not terrible) upper helmet buffeting and trying to limit the wind from below. He thinks that open area around the forward tank area creates acute wind ...

Re: Anyone using SW-Motech Quick-Lock Tankbag?
SF: You might want to discuss this with Twisted Throttle. For my `09, I actually needed the `07 mounting ring kit for my tank. (Had to provide them w/ the serial number of my bike.) But since you have an `11, maybe they accidentally sent you the older `06-`08 ring? My installation was incident free,...

Re: What IS or ARE the solution(s) to increase power engine
The latest edition of Sandy Cohen's BMW Motorcycle Magazine has an article on a kit that boosts the output of an R1200R engine. The big-bore kit (to 1216cc) has been developed by Rosner & Rose in Germany. HP increased to 130; torque to 103. But "... for a price, Ugarte, for a price." A...

Ditto!
Plus, appreciate getting some upper torso wind-flow compared to what the K75RT offered.

Re: Track Day
Sounds like you had a great time at the track with your "RR." Maybe the RR would better fit a different type of track? Just wondering. I've been toying with the notion of running my RR at our local track. But first I need to find the right school for me ... don't want to be mixed w/ a bunc...

Re: Music for my helmet
I use Etymotic ER-6i earplugs. It uses a 1/8" "standard-type" plug into an audio device which, in my case, is my Zumo 550.
Note that Etymotic has supposedly replaced the 6i's with the "MC5" model. (Dating myself, recalling the band "The Motor City Five.")

Re: is this normal?
Add me to the list. Returned yesterday from the UnRally in North Carolina. 2100 miles of accumulated road grime on the swingarm of my `09 also helped ID a small coating of oil/grease around the circumference of the bearing area. But not nearly as bad as the photos here. Just the same, I'll call my d...

Great idea! I have a few I could contribute.
Mebbe this should be over in the "Great Rides" section of the forum? (rather than the R12R section?)

Re: Gray R/NJ Plates Parked Nexted to Me at the MOA Rally
It may have been my 2009. I arrived at the Fairgrounds around 1030am, and stayed until a little after 400pm. Worked the 12-4 Registration shift. Temps were tolerable under the bigtop, as long as the breeze was blowing. My adventure for the weekend occurred this morning, while leave the Mt. Olympus a...
