Re: Wet riding freaks me out

All very valid points! I agree with websterize, watch the other drivers very carefully. The other day I suddenly drove right into a rain storm which appeared literally from nowhere within seconds. The driver in front of me slammed on the brakes and came to a stand still for no particular other reaso...

Re: Why you should always wear protective gear & clean under

Sorry to hear about your crash! Hope you are recovering soon. I have the SW Motech mounted as I talked to the BMW guys over here and a rider had an accident with the bike which would have been a total write off without the guards. The rider was fine. Frankly, but than I am probably a less adventureo...

Re: Offset handle bar risers

Thanks for the info. Yes I have by now realised it is either new cable done by BMW or perhaps there is enough play once I do not twist the handlebar towards me when mounting the riser. At the moment I can in fact turn the handle bar fully in both directions but the brake cable seems to be sligtly on...

Re: Offset handle bar risers

No I have not gotten it into my house, but I am about to start my new riding season. By reading this thread once again..I have realised that tampering with longer brake lines is not a good idea but that this has to be done by the dealer. Nevertheless, need to give the handle bar risers one more try ...

Re: Offset handle bar risers

I have just tried to mount my new Touratech handlebar risers on my R1200R (2010) and it seems like the cables (brake) are getting to short. Am I doing something wrong here as some of you said you did not have a problem with the length of the cables? How does a cable extension work? Where do I get th...

Re: So My Comfort Seat Arrived and Tomorrow Will Be Snow

It will be interesting to find out how you like the comfort seat. I can't wait to get my bike back on the road (perhaps next week?), but I don't want to insure it just yet, because we had some snow the other day here in Vancouver.

Re: My weekend ride...

I must say first of all- I soooo envy you that you went out for a ride...can't wait to get my bike back on insurance and back on the road. I have met quite a few Harley drivers over here in Vancouver and must say I always had a nice chat with them. One even walked up to me and said that he wanted my...

Re: Bike won't start

hjsbmw- no I do not think it is a battery issues as stated in my first post. I had just replied to the suggestions that it "might" be the battery. It made as said all the right sounds and it is still pretty brandnew- so no...I hope not. Time will tell. BTW Merry xmas to all of you and than...

Re: Bike won't start

Bigeasy- all what you said makes perfectly sense and I am fully understanding that batteries are wear and tear and they might go earlier, but...mine is just 7 months old and as said a couple of weeks back it did not give me the slightest problem before. Unfortunately I don't have a garage - it's par...

Re: Bike won't start

Thanks for your suggestions re insurance. I have my bike twice per year off the insurance: winter and believe it or not but also July and part of August as I am travelling every summer for 6-8 weeks to Europe. We have the basic insurance with ICBC (no other choice here) and an additional insurance w...

Re: Bike won't start

Thanks for all you suggestions. LumpyCam: I did use the throttle a bit and it did not work- unfortunately. Liam: Thanks for all your suggestions. I had done most of them...apart the one with the mice...didn't even occur to me that they might nist in my bike! The bike is currently under a cover and o...
