Re: For Anyone Complaining About the Heat at the MOA Rally
It's currently upper 90s with thunderstorms coming in Central PA. This is what Basra felt like.

Re: For Anyone Complaining About the Heat at the MOA Rally
Talked to someone from Missouri at the MOA Rally he said if there is a heat wave next summer Missouri can be as bad or worse. It will be a last minute decision for me after looking at the weather forecast. Wasn't the weather nice in Wisconsin a few years back. John L. I lived in the KC area for a w...

Re: Lost Fuel Strip
If you search under "fuel strip" here or on any other BMW board, there are many, many, (many, many) discussions on this. Some people have had no problem, others have replaced the thing as many as six times. I've had one replacement on my 2010 with 23,000 miles so I guess I fall into the se...

Yeah, but if he rode his Ultra Classic there, it might get dirty.

It's like Sturgis. My boss goes every year. He used to tow his bike, but this year is shipping it and flying out.mogu83 wrote: Still can't get over all the RVs and bikes coming in on trailers at the National.

For Anyone Complaining About the Heat at the MOA Rally
This will be the second Friday in a row in Central Pennsylvania with triple digit heat and high humidity. It seems completely unfair that we get this yet do not have petroleum reserves.

If you do opt for the F800, I'd recommend adding sliders.

I wonder why they'd have an aftermarket muffler in the photos?

Trust me--none of those on my map are cruiser roads. My Ultra Classic riding buddy refuses to go with me anymore.

Me too. At that price, if I don't like it I won't feel terrible about just throwing it aside.

Re: Gray R/NJ Plates Parked Nexted to Me at the MOA Rally
Since the brakes are partially linked, I only use the hand lever for normal braking and only the foot if I have to brake in a turn, like a parking lot or downhill hairpin. But I think the only way to remember in a pinch is through practice. That's the reason I still do weekly panic stop practice.

Re: BMWMOA National Bloomsburg,Pa
I don't think I'd ride it, but it is purty. I never came across that one. Having never seen an R12R except mine outside a dealer, I was excited to come across a few of them. We should have gotten together and done a gang ride on some of the twisties I know about. I could have used backup during my b...

Re: BMWMOA National Bloomsburg,Pa
The flaming cars were a REALLY bad choice. I felt sorry for the rally chairman when everyone started booing, but that would have been much more appropriate for a Harley rally.

Re: BMWMOA National Bloomsburg,Pa
Home - Really really hot but that was the only downside to rally. Ample food vendors, showers that were available with little wait, lots of parts vendors, great entertainment and 7 thousand interesting people to meet. Got there early on Thursday and header for home early Sunday. Met lots of old fri...

Re: Wearing a Helmet
I few weeks ago I had a bee get inside mine. Luckily I was able to stop and get it out before it stung. I wasn't so lucky Thursday--riding to rally, I took a yellowjacket up the sleeve and I didn't know it was there until it stung. It's now two days later and my arm still itches and is swollen, so I...

Wearing a Helmet
Even leaving safety completely aside, this is why I wear helmet. After making the mistake of staying for the torturous closing ceremony of the BMW MOA national rally, I rode home along Susquehanna River, the last hour in the dark. This was my helmet when I got home. I suspect the Harley people who p...
