Nice that it has a comfort seat instead of the stock discomfort seat. I'm wondering if it was the touring special edition with the side cases removed, since that came with the comfort seat? That's a standard seat, not the special "comfort" seat. Different tail section; different material....

The most I've ever driven in a year (car+bike combined) is about 12K. I've averaged about 8k/yr for the past five years. That'll probably rise since I now hop on the R for pointless rides to nowhere and back.

Excellent outcome! I, too, thought the RT was just too much. The R provides a platform to make it our own. Naked, windscreen, fairing, .... to each his own and it's all good.

Thanks for the heads-up. I always assumed "a miss is as good as a mile", but apparently the fork stops are not bulletproof. Does anyone know more about how much they can be trusted? For that matter, where the heck are they?? I can't seem to see them, but they must be up under the steering...

Traffic makes the air bumpy, no doubt. I test on the freeway since I can ride 80mph safely, but it's always messy air. To and from the freeway I ride on empty backroads and can ride 50-60mph. MUCH smoother.
