Re: Anybody extended their front fender?

Yes . The R1150R front fender is a two piece design. front(beak) and rear. The rear section from a R1150RT will extend the rear section of the front fender.

Try Cruiserworks boots; they are weatherproof , light ,comfortable wellington (pullon) type boot . I've been wearing mine since 2002 . They are resoleable .

Re: Tailgate support while loading a bike

Hertz rents motorcycle trailers . bring your truck to them and they will tell you if it will work . It sounds like the ball is mounted directly to the rear bumper . Was that a BMW dealer that told you that . How close are you to Bob's BMW ? Try them for advise .

Re: Tailgate support while loading a bike

Your tailgate will probably bend before the cables break . Hauling the motorcycle diagonaly is dangerous at best a disaster at worst. Borrow ,rent or buy a trailer . I'm a retired professional driver that has hauled everything from motorcycles , furniture , heavy equipment , lumber , to cattle and h...

Re: Harley advantages over BMW, any?

I'm an old fart as well , and it is not true . I currently own and ride a BMW R1150R ,and a Harley Davidson FLHTP . I like them both and they are different and similar at the same time . I don't ride to impress any one , I ride because I love to . I ride daily(not in rain or snow) and a typical day ...

Re: Is $400 for a brake flush an honest fee?

If your bike has servo ABS ,doing the fluid change is not the big deal , but clearing the fault codes is . Nine years ago BMW of Atlanta charged me $250.00 .

Re: Harley advantages over BMW, any?

Yes , I do own a Harley Davidson FLHTP ( Police motorcycle) . I also own a 2004 R1150R . The Harley is more comfortable and handles well , not as well as the BMW , but for long distance it's more enjoyable for me .

Re: Unavoidable puddle -> leg soaked

Try rain trousers . British Motor cycle Gear carries a pair called E Z on trousers . When I bought mine they were made by Belstaff , but now by BMG . They are waterproof overpants ,with zippers from the ankle to mid thigh easy on and off ,with armor and water proof .

It's no longer April Fools day ! It is fir adjusting spring preload on the shock. The center is for standard load high is heavier , low is lighter. If you weigh 97 lbs. and have no luggage or passengers set it on low ,if you weigh 250 lbs. have full bags(22lbs.) and a 110 lb. passenger set it on hig...

They seem narrower because the seat is thinner and narrower. I tried one with a comfort seat(about $400.00 more) and that's what I'd like ,but I have a 34" inseam. All the r1200R's I've seen have keyless ign. and to many electric extras for me(heated seat &grips OK) the rest they can keep .

Re: Want a new front fender. Any suggestions?

The front part of the front fender can be swapped for a front K1200 RS or GT. your stock rear part of the front fender will work with it , or you can use the rear part of a K1200 LT front fender ( it's about 4" longer , less grime on the engine ) :)

Fuel stabilizer

I've talked with quite a few riding buddies about fuel stabilizer and have gotten as many recomendations as warnings . In the past I've ridden year 'round , but I'm going to undergo total shoulder surgery and I'll be off the riding list for up to six months . I use non ethanol fuel , but I think a f...
