Re: Remove ABS - Dual Banjo at the master cylinder?
Well, I'm not taking it to any racetrack
I've had it done by BMW specialist ( not BMW dealer! ) and every year I'm having the bike serviced by them and they change all fluids, including brake fluids. No problems so far and brakes work absolutely fine. No whining noises.

Re: Remove ABS - Dual Banjo at the master cylinder?
A little bit like that, but different solution. Removed all the BMW plumbing and started all new steel lines setup. You mean these black grips for the pillion / cargo racks? https://i.postimg.cc/bv8bRhxY/bmw-r-1150-r-abs-1051933-9.jpg As far as I know, only original BMW hard cases will fit. And that piece of plastic which looks like a cargo rack for a top case. No. It's not strong enough. It's form over function....

Re: ABS Failure
Haven't got a Rockster, but R1150R and had the ABS removed and the brake lines replaced with steel lines.
They removed all ABS related stuff, including sensors.
I reposted all pictures in my comment above, so they should be visible again. See picture of front leftside. No sensor.

The clock also drains your battery.
I use a battery tender for 48 hours (Friday 6 AM till Sunday 6 AM) every week and the Motobatt is now over 8 years old.

Re: Alternator belt and a chirp
In the video he uses one torque wrench only on the left hand side of the bike at the back of the alternator to lift and hold belt at 8 nm. Holding that in place at 8 nm he uses the other torque wrench on the left hand side of the bike on the front of the alternator to set it at 20 nm. On the right h...

Re: R1150R Starting issues/Brake light flash
Can't help with the running/noise issue, but the brake light might be the ABS system which flashes initially until it's activated by riding few miles per hour (forget how many exactly)- then it's good to go and the warning light should go out. Best of luck and welcome to the group. Ahh, fantastic. ...

If ABS bike, then flush the breakfluid (particularly the ABS system) every year. Or remove the ABS system in advance. Re: Toot...toot.
Always best to ride defensively and assume the worst, it's your life, not theirs that is at stake, so take responsibility for yourself. :) Yes, that 's where it all starts. Don't ever assume that they see you. On the road with a motorbike since 1974, has taught me that and saved me many times. That...

The moment you need a horn to warn somebody, is in fact almost too late. You don't want to get in that kind of situation. " I must have inadvertently put on my invisible man jacket ". Makes me wonder. High visability jacket and helmet? Or black/brown jacket, black (or dark coloured) helmet...

I have the same tender and do the same. Battery (Motobatt) is now 7 years old and absolutely fine.gregor wrote:I have an Optimate 4. Very happy with that brand. Battery connected all year round ( well when the bike is in the garage).
