Re: Michelin pilot 4 tires
I finally finished the Metz that came with the bike. I have no complaints on them, great tires. I put on the PR4s GT both front and rear :D . Wonderful tires, and not just because they're new. I've put about 3,000kms on them already, and now I can write a report. The rainy season opened up in Guatem...

Re: Cylinder Guards/Crash Bars...Rome
For hand guards, I bought Barkbusters. They make a model specifically for R1150R. It only attaches to the end of the handlebar with the provided hardware. A robust aluminum bar provides handguard protection, and plastic deflectors ward off rain and cold. I got them at Twistedthrottle.com.

Re: BRAKE ROTORS AFTERMARKET vs OEM
I bought front and rear EBC rotors at motorcycle superstore. com. I've had them for a couple of years, and they are magnificent. I also replaced the brake pads with EBC Double-H sintered ones. Very little dust, no squeaking, and assured stoping power. I'm completely satisfied.

Re: Michelin pilot 4 tires
With 7,000 miles on the GT4's the rear is heavily chopped on the edges and the center is starting to wear badly, it looks like this tire will see @12,000 and be totally shagged. The front is like new. I would have to say the old model GT3 was a much better tire all things considered, I am surprised...

Re: Water getting under gas cap and not draining from catch
Thanks for all the suggestions; they worked! First, I located where the drain was. It didn't even show itself. Next, I carefully rammed wire and alternated with WD-40 / 3 in 1 oil. I let the oil work overnight until The oil did its thing, and the blockage was flushed out.

Re: Replacing the battery on a 2003 R1150R
I've been using the Ballistic EVO2 12 cell, Lithium ion battery for around three years, now. I couldn't be happier. The weight I shaved off is incredible. The cranking is sure every time. I had it installed on my 2002 R 1150 R when the gel type started to fail. I sold the 2002 because a 2006 with on...

Re: Michelin pilot 4 tires
Thank you very much for all your imput. To keep the bike stock, I'll have to go with the GT since they don't have the stock size on the regular ones. I'll report again when the time comes that I've changed them and tried them.

Re: Michelin pilot 4 tires
I have considered Bridgestones. The Michelin performance, as advertised, is what's gotten me interested though. Thank you for your comment.

Re: Michelin pilot 4 tires
Thanks for your imput. I can't see a reason either, but that's what the site says. When the Metzellers I have on now get finished, I want to try the Pilot 4s. I'll be waiting for your report, mountrous. I hope the weather becomes balmier soon. Good ridance!

Michelin pilot 4 tires
I've been looking into the Michelin Pilot 4 tires at the Michelin web page, and it does not recomend those tires for the R 1150 R; however, they are used on the R 1150 RT. Can someone explain why they might not work or be adequate? Thank you.
