Scorpion Syncs

We officially finished our round the world tour 500 miles short of our intended goal - in San Ignatio, Baja Sur rather than Cabo San Lucas, Mexico as planned. The reason for the early end is that I hit a very nasty pothole at about 130 km/h that bent both rims (no blow out or getoff). Interestingly,...

Thanx all

My wife is not thin but then she isn't a BBW either. We did make it from Fairbanks to LA in relative comfort (considering we were on a stock seat). The truth is we were so tired from almost 15 mos on the road that I doubt that the seat would make much difference. The BMW bags were terrific. I plan t...

RTW

Right now we plan to go 2 up. We were just carrying too much stuff, mileage was bad and I just didn't feel safe. So, we will head out to Baja just after Thanksgiving and then decide where to go--S America, Oz or maybe back to China. In any case we will be on the road again soon.

Look at Bar Enterprises in Sunland, CA

I was at Bar yesterday and ordered a new seat for my 12R. While Bar is known more for their Harley seats this will be my third from them in 15 months. I had their police solos on the Chang Jiang that we left China on. A wonderful seat for that bike. When it died in the Ukraine and I got my R850R in ...

bar risers

Being vertically challenged and not looking forward to constantly leaning forward in my travels, I researched bar risers and may have found a real bargain. For less than $40.00 delivered to my door, my R12R now sports a 1" higher and 1.25" closer set of risers. If this is of interest, you ...

New 12R owner needs help for long distance touring

My wife and I are about 3,500 mi from finishing a RTW from China to Cabo. We started in China on a Changjiang which died in the Ukraine. I bot a R850R with side car that we drove from Germany to Fairbanks where the BMW dealer convinced me to finish on the 12R. GREAT DECISION! I have BMW bags now but...
