Re: They say this mini jumpbox will work for a motorcycle
A buddy of mine had his battery on his R1100R die at the Black Canyon, their Park Rangers brought a similar unit. Worked beautifully. They said they don't charge it very often and jump a lot of cars. Don't recall the brand, but was pretty pricey. Saw a similar unit in Costco for ~$50 last week.

Re: New tires kind of twitchy
I put on a set of the same tires in June and noticed the exact same issue. Took me about a month before feeling confident. I did a 1000 mile trip over 3 days around Colorado and was much more confident in the corners. They stick, you just have to get used to the new feel. I had a set of Shinkos on m...

Re: Always have to use "choke" on cold start
So, in the last month, the first start of the morning, fresh from a warm (70+ degrees) garage, the bike takes 3-5 tries to get it to finally stay running. I just changed the plugs last night, and, same issue this morning. Would a throttle body sync be the culprit? I have tried no fast idle, half, fu...

Re: Always have to use "choke" on cold start
It's a 2002. I am thinking the plugs need replaced. I had them out when I did my valves a couple of weeks ago, and it got worse since then.

Re: Always have to use "choke" on cold start
Thanks for the replies. My bike the last few mornings has required 2 starts. Start 1 doesn't take, sputters out. Start 2, just fine. I am waiting for all systems to stop whirring. Another thing to note, on the first start, with the "choke" on half way, I try to roll on the throttle ever so...

Always have to use "choke" on cold start
I have had my bike since October, and through the winter in CO, had to always use the "choke" upon first start of the day to go to work, and again when coming home. It's been in the 80's/90's most of the summer, and I still have to use the "choke". I recently changed the oil, and...

Re: New 2004 R1150R owner, what do I need (beginning rider)
I've found that a bright set of LED's (driving lights) have been invaluable for me. The difference was immediate. Not to see but simply to be seen. I second this. I immediately added some cheap LED lights simply for being seen. They are bright too, so no excuses in the daylight. I think I paid less...

Odd noise while bike's cold
I just started noticing a louder, more like a rattle noise, a couple of weeks ago. Happens for the first 5-10 minutes of riding, then seems to go away. You can hear it in my video right as it starts, then ~9 seconds in, when I pull in the clutch, the sound goes away. Then if I let off the clutch slo...

Re: 1150R seat
If you check around (Beemer Boneyard, CL, IBMWR.org ... etc) you can find the seats advertised. Personally, I think it's silly to not have adjustable seat heights on a bike, my R1150R came with a standard and low seat, I then bought a high seat. I'm not real happy with the ride quality of the stock...

Re: Want a new front fender. Any suggestions?
Jaimo, I believe you have R1200C fork sliders and fender. That mount is straight off an R12C. Looks sharp, but would likely require finding a front end to steal the fork sliders and fender from.

Here are some closer pics. Still not sure what the fender came from. Was on the bike when I bought it.

Re: Pilot 4 spun from pure gold?
I was running Shinkos (230 series) on my R1200C for the last year before I sold it. Rode the Black Hills fairly aggressively (which isn't my norm) and they stuck great!

Re: New to the R1150R
My windshield is still mounted, and all bolts are torqued and seem tight against the sleeves for the brackets. I will check again if I have to dig in again for anything. Cheers!

Re: New to the R1150R
I think this may be a matter of amount of mass on what is a long lever away from its mounting point. I noticed the bouncing more since fitting my windshield a couple of weeks ago, which, added more weight with the front brackets right under the blinker stalks. The instruments are mounted a little mo...

Re: New to the R1150R
My whole headlight assembly bounces, including the blinkers and my windshield. It isn't much, but I notice it, since my gauges don't move. I know all the bolts are tight, as I double checked them when I had my headlight off to reseat the instrument lights and mount my windshield. The 3 bolts on the ...

Re: New to the R1150R
Ok, so after 500 miles in the last 3.5 weeks, a few things I am curious about, aside from my front shock mentioned in a separate thread (http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34553). I have a touring windshield on and all my bolts on the front clip are tight at the head, but the headli...
