Re: Issue with Schuberth SRC

Issue solved. What the tech had me do was clear all the paired items in the SRC and then do a re-pairing the bike to bike intercoms. That did the trick. It had been about a year ago since we first paired the two intercoms. Went for a ride Sunday with two friends with Scala rider systems and all work...

Re: Issue with Schuberth SRC

Schuberth USA is much the same. Chances are they will authorize an exchange with your local dealer for a new one. They did that for me several times, as well as shipping replacement units to me overnight. Damn fine service IMHO. Their stuff is pricey, but the support makes it worthwhile. I've been ...

Re: Issue with Schuberth SRC

Don, Thanks for your quick reply. I must say your "customer services" is excellent as well!! I also have the XL-XXL version. I am assuming that you purchased yours through Rider Warehouse or are they the North American Service for the SRC? I purchased mine through my local BMW dealer (BMW ...

Issue with Schuberth SRC

Anybody that owns the SRC collar having an issue with the quality of bike to bike intercom degrading with time? I thought I saw a while back a thread where someone (Don E.?) had sent their SRC in more than once for a battery replacement. I tried search to locate the thread with no luck. I purchased ...

Re: HID Conversion

One more thing - how hot does the ballast get and is mounting it inside the headlight shell safe. Harry, I don't have a good answer for that. The sales person I spoke to on the phone when I purchased the kit did not seem to think it would be a problem with the digital slim ballast. He may of just w...

Re: HID Conversion

mogu83, You can find many opinons here from those that have many more years experience than I that suggest you should not install an HID in the existing housing. I think many of them have valid points so my advise is to do a search and give what they say honest consideration. That being said I have ...

Re: Hugger

does anyone know if the mudsling fits a low suspension bike? thanks I don't know but I would not hesitate to call them 908.996.7210 and ask. I found them to be very friendly and willing to answer my questions. (They sold me one of their early prototypes for ESA so I could have it for my annual trip...

Re: Help with mirrors

I know exactly what you're talking about; I had the same problem with mine. My solution was to switch to F800GS mirrors and clamps. The mirrors are better, in my opinion, and the clamp is a simple tightening collet which will never loosen up. Order the mirrors, clamps, and rubber thing to cover the...

Re: Mudsling

I was on a waiting list for the ESA mudsling for my 2007 R12 for a good 6 months and would give them a call every two months or so to ask about availability. I really wanted to get one installed before my annual ride. I was contacted by Machineart about a month ago and was offered a "pre-produc...

Re: Offset handle bar risers

Thanks for the info. Yes I have by now realised it is either new cable done by BMW or perhaps there is enough play once I do not twist the handlebar towards me when mounting the riser. At the moment I can in fact turn the handle bar fully in both directions but the brake cable seems to be sligtly o...

Machineart Moto has sent out a press release to dealers in the last week or so , it is available now. My bike was used for the development model and is the Biarritz Blue R12R in the close up of the Mudsling on the press release. I rode New Years Day around 60 miles in the wet muck (cinders and salt...

Re: Why is there only one swingarm pivot cap?

I actually asked BMW about this.. and they claim it's so moisture doesn't condense in the swingarm pivot housing and rot the bearings. Don, I got the same answer from my dealer here in CA. Go figure. Oh - it has to be an R1200R specific cover - it's a slightly different size then the ones commonly ...

Anger, Not sure this what you are looking for, but I followed Paul and used the Talon brackets by Hawks Products (without lights) and find they work very well for short periods of time just to get a quick stretch while riding. Here is the thread with photos and info http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewt...
