Great news that you got it back safely Roger! Now you can go every day and look at it...mine is also in hibernation as I will only insure it again in February/ March.

Re: Bike won't start
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I had phoned the dealer ship and they said basically that it might be just too cold as the battery worked without a flaw two weeks ago and it has been on the trickle charger for the whole time. I have wrapped the bike up now under covers and well it will ha...

Bike won't start
Sorry if that has been discussed somewhere else, but I did a search and all the searches pointed towards dead batteries which is not the case for me (I think): It is freezing cold outside at the moment. (- 4.5 degrees or 23.9 F). My bike is on a trickle charger and the battery seems to be fine. The ...

Re: Fuel Gauge
Just my speculation: could it be those people have habits or add-ons that lead to the failure repeatedly? hjsbmw- I have not altered my bike in any way. The only thing that I have done is attach a cable to the battery to work with my heated vest. That cable has been on for a couple of months and al...

I have both and use the topcase pretty much exclusively (apart from touring). I had never had a problem with mine and it fits all I need.

Re: 1200GS vs 1200R...highway riding question
My husband rides a GSA 1200 and I have the R1200R. When it comes to highways I am miles ahead of him. He has much more issues with wind than I have. Off- road: obviously he excells but than most of the roads I can do as well just a little bit slower.

Re: R1200R: un-popular or simply sold out?
I am with Don on this one. My dealer here in Vancouver told me that they sell about 4 R1200R for each 15 GSAs. He also told me that next year there will be the new R1200R available.

Re: r1200r abs question
As far as I know this is correct but I thought it's the ASC system which does it? You basically just need to use your front brake and ASC than applies both brakes.

Re: WHY DOES ABS MATTER ?
Thanks for your answers. ka5ysy, the same with the rear brake happened to me and frankly it scared the hell out of me! Down shifting didn't help either as I was already in first gear...I pumped the front brakes as angellr did but frankly it did leave me with a foul taste. I love my bike and off road...
