Re: Luggage rack

I had an R1150RT with top box . Since I had a small luggage rack from a 1985 K100 , that I was not using I mounted on top of lid. Drill four holes and you're set . Caution the luggage rack has a slight curve to it , so find the center put some painters tape down , then put some tape next to it where...

Re: shout out for getting naked

I too tried this last october. I removed the touring shield and barbacks and found while the ride was airy and alot of fun , it was also tireing . The 550 mile ride home to north Georgia from Daytona is a ride I will not do again without barbacks and a screen . The sport screen is on now ,and I plan...

Replacing fuel/gas cap on the R1150R

Has anyone replaced the gas cap on the R1150R ? I've purchased the SSR cap and want to know what to look for(expect) when changing the cap.

Sad to say , it's the same weekend as the European Riders rally in Burkesville,KY . The BMW club of Nashville,TN ,and the folks of Burkesville KY put on a great hometown style rally. I'll be there. :D

I also wanted a larger left (port) bag, and bought some BMW touring lids. They are about four inches wider than the standard lids. I also have the city lids, which are great for everyday use. You may be able to find them used for less money. :)

H4 led headlight bulbs

Howdy,y'all. My '04 R1150R just burned out the low beam,on the headlight bulb. Some of my riding buddies have suggested a led H4 replacement. Have any of you tried them, and do you like them? I've also been told the Silverstar is a better H4 bulb, but not a led.

Re: tire talk

I also wanted Michelin Pilot Road 4's,but two local dealers found that they were on backorder every where. So in order to ride to a rally, the shop mounted Bridgestone Battalax B30s. So far they are working well. Fine handling wet or dry and not as bad as some on tar snakes. I live and ride in north ...

Re: New to tubeless tires...

Those plugs do work well. I just had a tire mounted(300 mi.) and picked up a nail. After a temp fix,the dealer that sold me the tires used those type of plug/patch and it held up for the life of the tire.
