Re: ABS/battery issue
coming home from a short overnight trip recently on my 2007 R1200R my ABS light (brake failure) came on. i stopped and turned the bike off, restarted it and the light went off. for the past few days i have not had this issue again, although the past few times i have hooked the bike up to the batter...

Re: End of my unannounced hiatus
I DO wonder what makes him tick and why he ticks at all if he doesn’t own an R1200R. I however don’t think that my “seeing” or not seeing anyone will be a significant enough punishment to have any influence at all.
Sometimes when I ignore someone they don’t even seem to notice.

Mine are going to be ready for replacement sometime in the near future. if someone has done a write up or pictorial I would be interested.
I am keeping the heated part.

Re: Deals Gap trip
I camped this weekend in North Georgia near the newly reopened TWO (but not at it) this weekend. I was at what is locally called the Airport. Anyway had a great time great riding fine weather blah blah I went home to E. Tn via the Dragon. I rarely go that way. Too nerve wracking for me. Screaming sq...

Re: Dragging knee on an R1200R
My bike has lofted the front wheel in first, second and third. ASC kicks in and sets it back down. I won't turn the ASC off it has more power than I think. Drag a knee? Me? never. Only the pegs. It sure does it with confidence. Enjoy David Third gear? I've never even lofted it in 2nd. You must be t...

Standing behind my bike this weekend and thinking about this very interesting subject I took a look forward and sure enough you can see it from there. Easy as pie.
Re: New Naked
I DO like the looks of the front end on this bike. I don’t mind the telelever front end on my 07 but I like the looks of the gold anodized forks and if I had had the choice I would have opted for regular forks. Much of my preference I will admit is just the looks of regular forks over the telelever ...

Re: Attempt at restyling
I'm getting some feedback from Beemer fans here at work that the orange is a bit much. It's even brighter in person. At least you can see this bike coming. My runner up idea was to have metallic titanium squares with violet and yellow highlight stripes. It looked pretty good in photoshop. I like th...

Re: upgrade R1200R non-ABS to ABS
As far as I can tell the ABS was the first thing on the bike and then they added every thing else all around it. It seems to me that just physically attaching the ABS would be difficult let alone all of the computer stuff you would have to mess with. During the months when my ABS was not working my ...

Re: Is this a faux pas?
Give us a comparo of the big Yamaha to the R1200R in the twisties. we went riding with a guy on an FJR and he at times had a hard time keeping up. I didn't know if it was him of the bigger bike.
Nice looking bike.

Re: Attempt at restyling
That is MUCH better than the stock BMW stripes. I wish I knew how the use my Photoshop to do that sort of thing. I'd be curious what the other side would look like since the tank is asymmetrical.. The advantage of BMWs stripes (on the original Black/mit/stripes 07-08's) is they are above the asymme...

It occurred to me yesterday that lowering the pegs might help the pain I get in my hip joints on a longish ride.
