Follow up, these QD connectors work flawlessly. Hardest part was pulling off the old connectors.One paper towel is all that is needed for the little dribble of fuel when pulling the tank. Which I had to do twice in succession due a new faulty Motobatt battery (returned and bought a Oddesey). ALWAYS check the voltage of a battery before install rather than just throw it on a charger to top it off.

What tools did you use to remove the stock BMW hose clamps?

Needle nose pliers, squeeze the crimp and pull them apart. Any rubber/metal/plastic connection, vacuum lines, hoses, spark plug boots need a back and forth twist to break the bond before pulling them apart.
