Replacement Headlight

Post by johngellis »

A friend of mine r1150r was in an accident and needs a replacement rim, glass and reflector. The BMW price is $279.

Is there a cheaper option ? Doesn't seem to be much on ebay right now. I think he wants to retain the original look

+1 on what Buckster said. I recently had to replace just my lens. About $90 as I recall.

At one time the Bosch 7" headlight with the H4 bulb flange was pretty ubiquitous in cars and vans in the UK anyway. I fitted one into my old Triumph motorcycle.
A few years ago I tried to find another cheap one as I get persistent fogging of the lens in wet weather. No way- the market seems to have changed.

Still difficult to find at anything less than the above prices. The available cheaper ones come without parking lights as those from MotorcycleHIDLights.com
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Yup much cheaper, £32.99 complete, but looks a different design.

Your link only offers glass and reflector. Still needs rim.

I'm sure the same firm do also sell rims.
Indeed - they have several versions including a stainless steel one at £12. Shop 'til you drop. ;)

Have you got a link to the product ? As you note the forum members are struggling to find anything reasonably priced in the USA.
