Rear brake not functioning

Hello all.

I have this strange situation... My RT (2002) was at regular yearly inspection.

Turns out, rear brake doesn't brake at all! No matter using hand brake, or foot brake. You can hear ABS sound when pressing both brakes (hand or foot) and first wheel brakes perfectly either way. But not rear, though. Contact is on, ABS light is ok, no alarm lights.

With contact off problem is more obvious. Since there is no synchronised braking, you can stop bike with hand brake (first wheel) only.
Rear (foot) brake is DEAD, rear wheel is not stopping....

Any idea? ABS unit again? Already replaced one......

Tnx for any information. Regular service doesn't have a clue....

Greets, F.

I assume you've checked the rear brake fluid reservoir? As well as fluid levels within the pump (although you'd think you'd get brake failure light indication. Have you pulled the rear caliper and taken a closer look for anything obvious? Leaks, rust on the piston (which if there is the caliper may be seized up. With no warning lights I'd be pulling the caliper and rear pads and take a real close look. Please let us know what you find.
