Bulbs...quick tip needed

Post by thepeacebullgrunt »

Hello!

Excuse the creation of a thread for this but I managed to loose my owner manual in the mess of my garage... but I need to have the exact reference of the recommended bulbs that I know is somewhere in the owner manual.

My R1200R is a 2008

Otherwise if you have any advice on a good price/performance/longevity reference of bulbs please feel free to share the information.

In the past I went for Osram night breaker that I was ordering from powerbulbs.com... they were strong but longevity disappointed me and they are pricey!

So now I am looking for a good compromise even if I loose some brightness.

This is from the 2007 Rider's Manual; I think it's the same as your '08:

Bulb for low-beam and high-beam headlight H11 / 12 V / 55 W
Bulb for parking light W5W / 12V / 5W
Bulb for tail light/brake light P21/5W / 12 V / 5 W / 21 W
Bulbs for flashing turn indicators, front R10W / 12 V / 10 W
-with white turn indicators RY10W /12 V / 10 W
Bulbs for flashing turn indicators, rear R10W / 12 V / 10 W
-with white turn indicators RY10W / 12 V / 10 W

I've got the stock bulbs in most positions; none has been replaced. I did, however, replace the rear turn signals, as I wanted amber lenses back there. I found some eBay copies that were quite satisfactory, at vastly less than BMW prices. They came with bulbs.
