I've talked with quite a few riding buddies about fuel stabilizer and have gotten as many recomendations as warnings . In the past I've ridden year 'round , but I'm going to undergo total shoulder surgery and I'll be off the riding list for up to six months . I use non ethanol fuel , but I think a fuel stabilizer is in order . Any help from riders up north would be welcome.

I used Stabil for years since it's available at any hardware store. It worked well but I now use Startron, which uses a different technology (enzyme) and claims to work twice as long.

With the fuel we have today, I drain the fuel out of any vehicle that sits for 6 months or more .

Do you have a trusted friend close by, who could take the bike out for a ride every 6 weeks or so? I have used both Stabile and Seafoam

I've used Stabil every winter for 10 years. Fresh fuel > Stabil > 20 - 30 mile ride to push it through the injectors. I have heard good things about Seafoam. A good friend who is a BMW bike tech and the folks at the shop where my car is worked on recommend against draining the fuel because the lines deteriorate faster.

I put Seafoam in every 3-4 tankfulls and use MARINE grade Stabil during winter. It has worked very well so far.

My BMW dealer recomends K100 fuel stabilizer. I went to there web site (K100) and watched some videos and I am impressed. That's what I'm going to use . Thanks for y'alls input.
