Wind noise

Post by sstein »

Trying to cut down wind noise a bit. I ride without a shield - I get too much buffering. Has anyone tried either the windjammer or the chin skirt? Does either reduce wind noise significantly? I currently use anow HJC CL17. I like it but it is rather heavy and bulky.

Opinions?

i watched a video today about some pricey ones. Flare audio makes some fancy plugs in aluminum and titanium. my guess is they let in more noise than foamy ones tho. most likely your helmet makes whistley wind,

even so if you insert foam plugs in the proper manner you should be protected.

picked up a box of max lite green on amazon. they are softy and really work fine

Is the HJC CL17 a 3/4 helmet with a screen ? They are noisy . Try a HJC full helmet that should be alot better ,with ear plugs .

I use these: http://earplugsonline.com/
I read about them in a MC magazine. I love them. They last long and are easier to put in than the foam variety. :smt023

Great links EasyBee. I read through those articles and I think having like a bandana handy to stuff in along the spaces between the helmet padding and the skin, especially below the ears, is the way to go.

Buckster, I have those earplugs and for the life of me can't get them to seat properly. When I press them in with my finger, they always stick to the finger and won't stick in the ear canal opening. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
