Re: My Rockster doesn't start
Pull all the spark plugs, install on the high tension wires and ground the body to the cylinder head, then turn the ignition on and see which plugs are firing and which aren't. An extra pair of hands might be helpfull, otherwise dfo one side at a time. Have all plugs out so there isn't the compressi...

b12bandit We yanks get a little crazy now and again and posts like this are the result.....yes they are comical, but very confussing for those new to the bikes. So, get yourself a good Ale, sit down and enjoy the craziness. Note: The easiest way to change the oil on a boxer is to turn the bike upsid...

Re: Antifreeze Emergency. Need Help.
duegi By all means, double wrap the intake thermocouple while the bike is in storage to protect it from UV radiation and bed bugs (it was reported recently that bed bugs have taken a liking to the material that encapsulates the TC, go figure) I can't help with the Motronic reset procedure as it has ...

Re: DOES ANYONE CONVERT HIS R1150GS IN R1150R
The weights of the GS and the R are fairly close, wihtin 30 kilos. The GS has a slight weight bias to the back, due to the large dameter front wheel, while the R has a slight weight bias to the front. The solution: Set the static ride height on the GS to that of the R (Can use the spring pre-load on...

Andreas,
I haven't checked the fitment of the R1150R 17" wheels, but that would be all that you will have to do. Keep the GS FD locator bar as it wil raise the back end ~ 1/2" and improve the bike's turn in and fit a good set of tires.

Re: My Rockster doesn't start
I assume you have the 4 plug engine, that being said, your problem might be with the stick coils, these decay and fail with continuous exposure to engine heat.

Re: Fuel Pump STRAINER!!!
Make sure you use R10 gasoline hose for the piece inside the tank otherwise it will deteriorate in time and you'll have to do the job all over again. R9 for anything external to the tank. Good luck.

Being that I'm growing old and feeble I would say a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V sedan, unfortunately it is beyond my means, however, I'm open to contributions from my friends in this board.....ANYONE......ANYONE?????

Re: Help needed installing new handlebars
Can't help you with the install of the Wunderlich's, however, if they are for a R1150R they should fit OK. I must caution you with the wiring to the heated hand grips if so fitted as the wiring is fairly fragile. If the new bar is not a direct replacement you might consider bar risers, which are far...

Re: Fuel Filter replacement
David Finally a bit of information has surfaced.....your bike is an 04' with the 4 plug engine. I venture to say that one or both of your stick coils are weak....... this is a common problem around the mileage your bike is showing. Do a search to find how to check them or hopefully someone will chim...

Re: Interesting point about modifying intake or exhaust
macx Your research is pretty much dead on regarding the capabilities of the Motronic 2.4 ECU fitted to our bikes. This is a good time, specially for the new breed of owners, to re-visit what I have posted before. Engine tuning by the OEM is at best a compromise, not only dealing, with design constra...

Re: Fuel Filter replacement
Assuming the filter install is OK, check to see if the fuel line quick connects are all the way home. They must snap together, otherwise you will not get full flow and that appears to be the case.....

Re: Can a Twinmax be used on the R1150R?
vcarlew The rubber caps on your bike's TB's mean the following 1) It's not a bike for the US market or 2) The bike was exposed to a "canisterectomy" or the removal of the carbon canister. The Twin Max is a fairly good tool if you understand how to use it 1) Insure the 9V battery is fresh 2...
