Re: Anyone built an autocom radio adapter to fit Yaesu VX-7R

check this website:

http://www.handsfreedirect.com/

I picked up an all in one adapter for the Yaesu VX-6R and cell phone, so they might have one for the VX-7R.

Re: Cont'd problems with clutch master cyl

1) Ghost ride the bike off a cliff.
2) Blame it on clutch spline failure.
3) Collect the insurance.
4) Buy a new bike. =P~
5) Sue BMW Co. and the dealership for pain, suffering and shoddy manufacturing.

Re: Remus Y Pipe

I originally had the Staintune box (mid pipe) and OEM can with the techlusion 1031. Although I had a heat shield on the case, it melted a hole in the side case on a trip from California to the east coast, so I installed the Staintune low swept can which includes an off-set bracket for a full size le...

Re: Do I need a special BMW crush washer?

I use a new crush washer every other oil change. My riding buddy has never used a new crush washer...46K and counting.

I guess it may be more of a personal issue than a mechanical issue?

FYI - I have over 100K on my truck, and I have never used a new crush washer.

Re: braided brake line supplier

Spiegler makes a SS brake hose kit to replace all the rubber hose lines on the 2002 ABS R1150R. They fit perfect on my bike.

They also come in many colors. http://www.spieglerusa.com/

Re: Remove System case locks with no keys?

Its been awhile, but if I remember correctly, there is a small pin hole near the lock. Stick a paper clip in the hole and remove the lock cylinder. I think that will get the cases open.

I'm sure there is someone here that may be able to elaborate.

hope that helps :)

Clutch & Spline Shaft

I talked to Oleg at ClutchNet Manufacturing USA. http://www.clutchnet.com/home.php I sent him a few pictures of the RB Racing sprung clutch, and his reply was, "Those are pictures of my clutches. We make those." (Looks like RB never did make clutches.) Oleg has been designing and making cl...

I used the DuPont Krytox on the last spline lube. It will be interesting to see how well it held up when I do it again this winter.

Re: Source for Krytox spline lube

macx, I know a veteran BMW mechanic of 23 years that swears by Lubriplate 3000. (SKU: L0108-098, Lubriplate 3000, NLGI No. 2) He claims it out performs any high pressure grease he has seen and used in his entire career. I'm going to try it out this winter on all the splines, including the clutch spl...

Although my input shaft spines haven't failed yet. I wouldn't mind having the alternative improved shaft coupled with the RB sprung clutch (http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/bmw_clutches.html). I’d even be willing to wait several months or even a year for the parts. I talked with Reto at Arbutus Controls...

Re: R1150RT BLM Fuel Cell mounting

John, Those fuel packs just became legal for use in California. I'm going to order 2 one gallon packs and 2 locks. I have been thinking about how I'm going to mount them. There seems to be many ways it can be done, but I'm leaning toward mounting them between my hard cases and the bike. Like a sandw...

Re: R1150RT BLM Fuel Cell mounting

Carrying extra fuel has always been a concern of mine when venturing out on a long ride. Last September really put the fear in me. I was traveling at night and passed many closed gas stations and nearly ran out of gas. Luckily, I came upon a 24hr station. It was just too close for comfort. With that...
