Re: Custom R1200C made to look like . . . a Rockster?
Guys, thanks for all the kind words! @ Grey Thumper: Looking like a Rockster was the last thing on my mind... the asymmetrical dual headlights was a last-minute detail, parts that became available. I was originally looking at some of the new micro-projectors from Hella that are made for custom or bu...

Re: I couldn't wait, building my own.
Can you have one? Yikes... with a 3-year production cycle per unit, I can't say that this would be a cost-effective business model.

Re: I couldn't wait, building my own.
Considering mine was started in 2005... perhaps the inspiration was the other way?

Re: I couldn't wait, building my own.
Yet a few more months have dragged by, but I am glad to say that in all major respects, she's DONE. D-U-N. Mike @ MG Cycles in NJ did an amazing job working out the electronic glitches and interfacing old harness to updated instrument/lighting harness and sorting out the ABS, along with a long list ...

Re: Silly headlight question...
Great conversion......I just have three questions 1) Were the front end slides anodized? 2) Who bent and fabricated that nice ensemble of stainless pipes. Is it 321 SS? or 309 SS 3) Where did the tailight come from The blue paint application is great....enjoy it. =D> =D> =D> 1) Originally, yes, the...

Much thanks to Mike and Jim at Beemer Boneyard, absolutely indispensible help with sourcing many parts and mechanical assembly.

Re: Silly headlight question...
Nope, it stays on. Both beams are lit when the high is on. Nice conversion by the way. Any more pics? Dan I suspected as much, thanks very much for the confirmation. The original chassis harness used a single 2-filament bulb and switched filaments between high and low. More "almost done" ...

Silly headlight question...
Premise: I don't own a Rockster, but need to know how the headlights work. Why? I'm using a Rockster headlight assembly on another bike. The question: when you turn on the high beam on the Rockster, does the low beam go out? The conversion: http://www.robertlevinson.com/Project_C/060708_ALMOST/image...

Thanks! You probably saw it on chromeheads.org, that's the only other place I've posted about it.

Re: I couldn't wait, building my own.
Yes, almost a year later... just a few more things to sort out - instrument wiring integration, throttle body synching, a few little fasteners that have gone missing. Frankly, I am most pleasantly surprised by the sound. It has a "dirty" sound like an Italian bike. More aggressive and loud...

I have the R1150R. Where can I get the pistons, head work, and cams? The Harley guys give me crap about no way to get more HP out of my R.   Pistons came from: http://www.bbpower.de/ They also offer high-lift cams, but I'll likely be sticking with R1100S cams. Engine assembly and o...

Long overdue update... http://picasaweb.google.com/robert.levinson/ProjectCAssemblyUpdate52907 Ignore the telelever, that's temporary while I have another proper R1200C unit.
