Re: 02 R 1150RT ABS Issues (continued)
Well I should have replied sooner but I've been pretty frustrated with this thing. The problem did turn out to be a sticky switch in the front brake lever. I got that sorted out without much pain, rode the bike into work the next day with a grin on my face but then on the way I home I pulled up to a...

Re: 02 R 1150RT ABS Issues (continued)
Hey guys, thanks for all of the replies. The fast flash does start immediately upon turning the key on, it never goes to the slow flash cycle. I'm working late tonight as we've got a server acting up at work so I probably won't be able to check anything tonight. Just to clear up the confusion I seem...

02 R 1150RT ABS Issues (continued)
Recently I asked about (and got some great advice on) bleeding the abs system on my 1150 RT. All went well and the system worked great for about a week, then the brake failure light (top one on the panel) went to the fast flash and the brakes went to full manual mode. I nursed the bike home and star...

Re: Need help with front brake bleeding
Well I went down to the hardware store and bought a rubber stopper for 60 cents, drilled a hole through it and stuck it on the end of a small funnel that I had in the gargare. It worked great and I was able to get the front wheel circuit filled and bled without any problems. Everythings back togethe...

Re: Need help with front brake bleeding
Thanks to both of you for the help, I got pulled away from the computer last night and just saw these this morning. I'll have to think about that offer to buy the bike, shipping to Iowa might break the deal! Actually I started playing with motorcycles back in 68 when at age 12 I bought a Honda 90 th...

Re: Need help with front brake bleeding
No, I've checked the reservoir on the handlebars and it is full, I have not taken the tank off. My understanding was that I didn't need to do that unless I wanted to flush the system with new fluid. I just want to bleed of the air that was introduced by removing the caliper. Thanks for your quick re...

Need help with front brake bleeding
Hello, I'm new to this forum and relatively new to BMW bikes. I've got an 02 R1150 RT and the left fork seal started leaking, so I ordered the seal and replaced it, no problem there. I had disconnected the left caliper hose from the line before removing the fork leg (lost a little fluid but didn't t...
