Re: 07 Brake Pads
MOGUE83 just turned 36K, the wear indicators are clearly visible and I'm likely in front of the replacement minimums. One of the four pads, inner left (clutch side) is worn down further than the other three. I do know the inner pad on both disc is a bit thinner. Even on the thin pad I can see the we...

07 Brake Pads
Question were the OEM brake pads on the front and rear made of SINTERED material? Did a search and couldn't find the answer. Getting ready to replace the fronts and want to get the right pads.

Re: 07 R1200R Final Drive
One last question on this topic, do you use silicone grease on the rubber boot? When I removed mine it was dry, HAYNES manual suggest to apply some. Your thoughts.

OMG This am went to the shop after a good bathing overnight of "Blaster", and noted the FD had slipped a bit, rotating the disc some and the FD slid into my hands!!!!! Yahoo. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who chimed in with advice. A word to the wise, when you ask you dealer to con...

Re: 07 R1200R Final Drive
No brake caliper and speed sensor are removed and lifted up and away. It really appears the pinion out of the FD is frozen inside the u-joint, no movement whatsoever!

Re: 07 R1200R Final Drive
Don C I've tried rotating the brake disc, and moving the FD up and down at the same time, there is only 1/8" movement at a best in the housing and it is not coming from the union of the u-joint and the FD pinion. Oaktown We are far beyond using the palm of ones hand, I've tried rubber mallet, d...

07 R1200R Final Drive
Doing a gear lube change using the DIU guide created by SEMPER_FI, all was going well until I came to the separation of the u-joint and the spline, FROZEN! I had the service done at 24K by the dealer along with a new rubber boot installed (under warranty), so it was separated at that time. My casual...

Re: New - Acerbis Hand Guards for R1200R
I've installed the Acerbis HG a year or so ago and live in northern Michigan. I find the guards to be very effective, look good on the bike and easy to install.

Re: 07 R1200R Headlight lens
Don, Talked with the service folks at MAX's they acknowledged history with the lens cracking, and being warrantied as defective. They asked if by chance I used an high output bulb, my answer was no still on the OEM, however I do run on high beam 99% of the time. Sadly in my case, seeing I'm outside ...

07 R1200R Headlight lens
Looking for some insight from this noteworthy group of esteemed scholars: Something transpired over the past year on my headlight lens to damage the surface. The surface has lots of little scratches on it that can be felt by running your hand over it. The R1200R has a Parabellum Scout fairing on it ...

07 R1200R Brake Pad replacement
Getting ready to replace front & rear brake pads. Looked at Max's fiche and noted the OEM pads are approximatley $100.00 per wheel to replace them. What is the CW from the membership on other brands of brake pads, ie., EBC, I see there have "sintered" pads for both the front and rear f...

Re: R1200R "LAMP" warning light ON
Yes finally figured it out. I had previously installed Kisan trailblazer bulb, after taking it out twice, my poor eyes failed to inform me the elements was broken...............The aid of a flashlight proved the element had broken. Replaced the small bulb in the Kisan (they gave me spares when I mad...

R1200R "LAMP" warning light ON
On my 07 R12R recently the LAMP warning light has come on, and none of the bulbs are burned out. The first time it happened I removed the high and low bulbs and replaced them using the same bulbs, the warning LAMP light went out. A month later the LAMP warning light came back on, again, the lights a...

Re: problem with starting
My 07 R1200R had similar problems, wouldn't start. I went thru all the standard checks, and still wouldn't start. Dealer examined the bike and found no code problems, but a check on the cranking amps on the battery was slightly low, they suggested maybe a new battery will be the answer. So after $10...

Re: EWS Antenna Ring R12R 07
after I installed a new battery WESTCO I rode the r12r to town and went to work for 8 hours, came out and bingo, it wouldn't start. Same exact issue as the previous post. Trailer-ed the r12r to the dealer (160 miles) upon arrival the bike started......The diagnostic check showed nothing. The dealer ...

Re: Parabellum Scout or windscreen upgrade?
I have the Scout on my 07 R12R and love it, just enough coverage to provide a bit of protection but doesn't take away from the overall look of the bike. I have a 10", 14", 18", and 20" screens. I acquired my used, but brand new, original owner didn't like the look, so I helped hi...
