Re: Lowered Suspension - How do you like it?
I have the 09 lowered R12 and love it. After riding a lowered harley big twin, and a lowered kawasaki councours, this bike is a huge relief. I've put around 5K miles on and don't notice a rough ride (but then, I'm used to lowered suspension). Cornering is awesome and I only scrape pegs when I'm bein...

Re: Taillight Issue
Actually, I put set back risers on and made sure that the controls don't touch the tank . . . good idea, though!

Re: Taillight Issue
Thanks, Bobw. I start trying some of those. The only thing I've done is turn the key back on and then off. That always works. Although the numerous adult beverages and the cattle prod are the most tempting

Taillight Issue
Hi all - I've had my 2009 R12 for about 2 months and still working out the kinks. Heading in Tues to have the gas gauge fixed for one thing. But my newest dilemma is the taillight. Every other time or so, when I turn the key off, the taillight stays on. Turn the key on, then off again and the tailli...

Re: R1100RT-P Headlight too dim?
vinpub: The first thing I checked on my Harley when that happened was the alternator. How are the turn signals? Are they dim, too?

Re: Lowered R12R?
Thanks bobw. The Seattle shop is where I sat on the low bike and he said it was the stock low seat. That's when he said there were actually three seats out there. I'm thinking I may have the low comfort seat rather than the stock. I've tried all your suggestions over the years except the gorilla. No...

Re: Lowered R12R?
Just talked to the dealer up in Seattle. Apparently, there are three seats available. The stock low one, a low comfort and high comfort. And, no way to tell which I have other than to compare. Anybody have a seat out there that looks different than mine? Could you post a pic? Thanks! http://i176.pho...

Re: Lowered R12R?
Good god! I can't afford to shrink! Being short is so unfair! But, thanks, I appreciate the chuckles. I guess the good thing is that I know it can be lower, just don't know how.

Re: Lowered R12R?
Checked out the shocks. Yep, they say LOW. Makes no sense. Here's a picture of my seat (hope I did it right):

Re: Lowered R12R?
Good points, but the reason I posted was that I'm looking for solutions other than living with it or selling it. I love the bike, just don't want to drop it again. And yes, Rich is great! He made a seat for me for a Triumph Legend. When it wasn't quite right, I went back up and he made it right. He ...

Re: Lowered R12R?
Oh bike is purchased. And I love it! Except for the fact that it's too tall. I've dropped it once already. The main reason I ordered it was because it was factory lowered. I have a 28" inseam and have been riding for 20+ years and wanted a bike with ABS that I would have to lower so much that I...

Re: Lowered R12R?
Preload was the first thing we adjusted. It's as low as it can go and so is the damping.

Lowered R12R?
Hi all, I've been lurking for a bit . . . bought a "lowered" 2009 R1200R last month. I'm not really that picky about bike color, but the local shops just had the boring (IMHO) black or white, so I ordered a blue one from a shop in California. My problem is that the lowered bike I sat on be...
