leather and man made fabrics

I suppose the grade of leather and which fabric in comparison will offer a lot of different results. I've seen the Joe Rocket mesh stuff after 30mph slides and it held up ok. I did a 20 mph spill in jeans and long sleeve heavy cotton shirt and had to sleep on my left side for three months. Mostly br...

roads in Greece

Memories of great riding and no GS is needed, just install a bash plate. Nice dusty finish on your bike, reminds me of Patras at night, construction and some sort of potent Greek wine.
Send us more photos, please.

The R1100RT and R1150RT police bikes have a fan and you can buy the parts from any dealer to add to any non-police version of the RT. When I worked at a BMW dealership I sold the assmebly of parts to a rider in the DC area who later reprted back to me that it made a big difference in temps as he swe...

R1200R handlebar options

For those of you familiar with both the R1200R and the R1200RT, will the handlebar set from the R1200RT fit on the R1200R?

ergonomics

Thanks all. I recall a thight angle at the knees on the R850R which took a bit of time to adjust to but it was not something that would keep me off the bike. What I found really perfect was the upright postition and the relaxed arm position. I have some neck and hand injuries which the 850 addressed...

R1100R R1200R ergonomics

I'm about 200 miles from the nearest dealer and the last R model I rode for a few hours was the R850R. It fit me perfectly and I'm wondering who can advise me on how that model (same as R110R in position riding) compares to the R1200R and would simple handlebar changes make up the difference.

Thanks

R1200R vs R1100R ergonomics

How would all of you rate and compare the ergonomics of the two. I find the early R1100 perfect for me and I'm curious how things have changed.
Anyone??

Thanks

read this about oil

http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/mobil1.html As for syn or dino keep to the dino for 10k or so. Most of the real break in is the first 100 miles or so if done properly. What you will notice on BMs is the trans getting better as you pass through 20k, 30k and on. At these mileposts check the...

stitch

For cold wx, elec. by Gerbing's is the best. For protection and comfort I've found the Cycleport stretch Kevlar (mesh for summer, liner for winter) to be the best yet. One grand for a tailor fit. Cheaper than gauze and wrap at the local ER.

noob with the R

BMW stands for Bitch Moan and Whine. There is nothing wrong with your rear end. BMW riders look for problems like Harley riders look for t-shirts. Ride the bike and don't get caught up in the paranoia.

I've seen detailed articles of several brands of oil filters, cut open and examined. There is no brand of motorcycle in this solar system that has "the best" oil filter or air filter. All of them are outsourced as are "their" oils. And BMW does NOT set higher specs than the other...
