'95 R1100R Loose Staunchens in Front Forks?
On my '95 R1100R, I recently noticed that the chromed staunchens inside the front forks both rotate freely if I try and turn them. They dont seem to be loose, but I can rotate both of them. This surprised me as I had assumed that they would be tighly secured and could only travel up and down. Anyone...

'95 R1100R Low Fuel Light Issues
My '95 R1100R low fuel light is haunted. No matter what the fuel level, it can come on. Sometimes when nearly empty it will be off, and right now with a full tank, it's on. I inspected the sensor when I replaced the fuel filter recently but didnt see any obvious problems. It was sliding freely in it...

Coil & Alternator (?) Ground Locations?
Can anyone confirm where the coil is grounded as well as what looks like a ground wire coming out of the harness at the alternator?
I believe both ground to the left side screws of the Motronic unit. Is that correct?
Thanks!

Re: Engine Won't Start; No Spark
On closer inspection several wires on the Hall Sensor pigtail near the plug have broken insulation. In addition, the sensors and plate have some corrosion. The bike has 77K miles and I've read that the Hall Sensor or its wiring can be an issue at this age. Is this my problem?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Engine Won't Start; No Spark
I have a 1995 R1100R I have aquired and semi-restored, including replacing the wiring harness with a (supposed) good one. The old harness was shot. As far as I know, all other components were checked by a dealer and are OK and most were not replaced. However, when I attempted a first start, she turn...

Thanks for the reply. Between diagrams, pics and test fitting the tank I think I figured it out.

Thank you for your responses! It turned out to be underfilled. I've drained and refilled and now can see the level.

1995 R1100R Oil Level?
Looking at the oil level window, it seems impossible to tell if there is any oil in the engine. But it was running before I got it. I added a whole quart and can see nothing in the window. It is that I just didn't add enough oil or do the old windows become impossible to see through? How do I know h...

1995 R100R Fuel Tank Connections?
I have a 1995 R1100R that I obtained as a project. When I got it the fuel tank was off and disconnected. Can anyone tell me how to reconnect the hoses? It has two fuel lines which obviously go to the fuel distributor, but I have no idea which hose goes to which distributor line. Also, there are two ...

1995 R1100R Engine & Wheel Paint Color?
My valve covers are in need of a coat of paint to match the silver BMW engine paint. Any suggestions as to which engine paint (heat resistant) matches the stock BMW silver?
Also, how about the silver wheel paint color? Would it be the same?
Thanks

Re: 1995 R1100R Tach & Clock Mounting Without Windshield?
Thank you very much! That looks like it.
Can you tell me where these brackets attach? Under each side of the handlebars as the windshield did , or somewhere else?
Thanks

1995 R1100R Tach & Clock Mounting Without Windshield?
I have a 1995 R1100R that had the separate tach and clock modules attached to the windshield brackets. I want to ride the bike without the windshield and am wondering if there is a reasonable way to mount the tach and clock on each side of the instrument cluster without the windshield brackets (whic...
