Re: 2 brothers exhaust on R1100r - low mount or standard
just a followup: I ended up getting the 2 brothers standard mount and was able to adjust it to work with the saddle bag. This slipon exhaust is exactly what i was hoping for. Fairly easy install, oxygen sensor screwed in nicely, and looks and sounds great. Slight idle adjustment and the bike is good...

2 brothers exhaust on R1100r - low mount or standard
Hi, I just got an email from 2 brothers saying they don't make the low mount bracket anymore...anyone know what the difference is between low and standard mount with hard bags? Do I need the low mount to put hard bag or if the bag has a "grooved" indent would the standard mount work? thank...

Re: R1100r - can I use an exhaust from a r1200gs
After way to much time on youtube and the web.....I just ordered the two brothers exhaust #005-920406m. Delivery included for $425 new in box.... Says it slips on and replaces the cat and is built for existing oxygen sensor with no other mods needed. Came down to Remus or this - Remus sounds tinny a...

Re: R1100r - can I use an exhaust from a r1200gs
Tom, I did a crazy thing as well getting my r1100r....I put an add in Craigslist to sell an old mercedes 380sl and ended up trading it for this bike. At the time I had a Harley sportster and a couple of scooters, but loved the look of this bike, driveshaft, etc and did the trade. Don't think I would...

Re: R1100r - can I use an exhaust from a r1200gs
Twinrider,
Thanks for the post.
Let me know what you end up doing - my stock exhaust is in pretty good shape and the bike is stock.
Very quiet. I just replaced the Hall sensor, alternator belt, pulley and adjusted the valves.
I am in Jersey City, NJ - where are you?
Chris

R1100r - can I use an exhaust from a r1200gs
Hi, I want to explore exhaust systems on my r1100r. Don't want to commit a lot of money but do want to see what works and sounds good. My r1100r is very quiet - I am used to vance & hines on a custom sportster. Looking for louder, deeper - but not the whine of a sport bike. I found a used Remus ...

Re: Help - messed up the Alternator lower Pulley case on 110
Bike is fixed and running great! Thanks for the info...I was able to replace and correctly install the pulley, set TPC, correct alternator tension, and placement of Hall sensor. And - pulling the gas tank did mess up the throttle cables but really easy to put them back. My neighbor has a 1150 gs and...

Re: Help - messed up the Alternator lower Pulley case on 110
Oliver, great pic thanks! It is #5 - so by the pic it is 2 pieces. So I did not "break" either piece..but I did bend the groove piece that supposed to line up. The pulley seemed to rotate in an oval pattern, so I think I did not have it properly lined up. Would the combination of overtight...

Help - messed up the Alternator lower Pulley case on 1100r?
So I replaced the Hall sensor, reassembled and tightened the alternator - probably too much.... Then I start the bike up, it goes for a couple of minutes then stops. I look over my work... first problem - I look at the lower alternator belt crank pulley and alternator belt. Is the lower crank pulley...

Alternator - Adjusting the Belt on r1100r
Hi,
I just replaced my Hall sensor and am not sure how to correctly adjust the Alternator belt.
Any ideas for a novice trying to learn how to do my own maintenance?
Thanks!

Re: Bad Hall Effect Sensor...I just replaced but ?? on Belt
Hi I just replaced the Hall Sensor and while I was at it put in a new battery. I have a couple of questions: How do I tighten the alternator belt? I did see a reference to how to adjust the Poly V belt...but not sure exactly how that works. Also, I had to remove the bottom bolt from the front shock ...

Bad Hall Effect Sensor...I think and ordered the part...
I had all the symptoms of the HES failure and just ordered a new one. "... If you experience the motor shutting down, then firing up again and, concurrently, your rpm's are dancing around, this is typical of a bad HES. Sometimes it will restart when cooled down, run well and then go kerplooey a...

Nicely done!
What did you do with the exhaust?
I can't see the pegs for gears or foot brake?
What fairing is that?
Great pics,
Chris

Backfired and right side exhaust popped off...
Hi, not sure of the technical name for the part (hose?) that popped off... Bike backfired and the rubber piece attached to the right side popped off. It is after the throttle piece. I see the metal ring with screw around it. I loosened it up and pushed the hose back on, tightened it up - but then po...

Re: Just got a "new to me" blue 1997 r1100r.....
Hi -couple of updates: I switched up to high octane gas and the bike is a different critter! I did have an electrical problem over the weekend. The bike died while at a light but started right up. Ran a few errands and the bike stopped again. This time it wouldnt start. I pulled off the seat - the b...
