Re: Rough idle, wants to stall
FWIW, I just went through the same set of problems with 53K on an '04, plug coil did the trick.

Re: Removing tank stickers
This thread finally gave me the gumption and I removed the tank side stickers this weekend. It took about 15 min/side with only a tired fingernail to show for it. Goo Gone took the residue off in seconds.
And man it looks pretty!
Now to try the ABS sticker...

Re: Removing tank stickers
I've been wanting to do this for a while but have hesitated. My silver RR has 50K miles and shows it, I've been concerned that once they're gone I might see some sort of ghosting once I reveal the virgin surface below the stickers. Any thoughts as to whether that concern is warranted? As for getting...

Re: RR Seats
I'm unfamiliar with that one but have been meaning to sing the praises of the new seat I recently had done by Rick Mayer (was waiting to take pics and still haven't gotten around to it). Suffice to say I almost want to take it off the bike every night and put it on the couch - it's the most comforta...

Re: KLR650 or R1150R??
Definitely two different bikes for two different purposes. The R is generally stump dumb reliable, don't let one bad experience throw you. I recently picked up an Aprilia Pegaso as a second bike, essentially same as an F650GS and a bit more road oriented but othewise similar to the KLR (tall 650 sin...

Re: Tire Pressure
I always check pressures before any ride longer than just running around town and usually have to top it up every fourth or fifth ride. I check real regularly in case I pick up a nail, catch a pothole and ding a rim, whatever, that could be causing a slow leak. It's also a good excuse to be squattin...

It is legal in California but the vehicle code is vague enough to give a lot of latitude in potential ticketing. Most LEOs I've read on other forums say it's ok if traffic is under 25mph and if the bike is not travelling more than 10mph faster than traffic. Cars generally expect it and give way in s...

+1 for MOA. I agree the mag is a mixed bag. The bike reviews are, well, lets say just a little one sided. The bulk of it is just trip reports written up by members, YMMV. A few regular columns are mostly interesting and informative. As others have noted though, it's worth the price just for the anon...

Electric vest wiring...
...or lack thereof. I don't want to pull the tank to hardwire my new electric vest just yet but have been using it on my Pegaso, am thoroughly addicted and it's mighty chilly around here lately. I'm a little uneasy about plugging it in to the power outlet as it's just a ways above and behind the peg...

Lots of great roads on eaither side of 101 through the central valley - Pashnit has write ups on most of them. I regularly use the R on work trips between San Francisco and Santa Barbara and it/I easily eat up 400+ mile days, the only complaint being the seat (tho an alaskan pad goes a long way to h...

"How many miles to the fuel light?" poll
So the ever present "127 miles on 3.7 gallons = 34.3 MPG" thread got me wondering, mainly because of all the folks talking about near 200 between fill ups. I've experienced all from the light at 125 to 150 and still going at time of refill. And seeing how I've never started a poll, how cou...

RR rider impressions of the 650GS?
Not really an RR thread, but seeking the input of RR riders, so... I'm looking for a dual sport. Nothing too hardcore, mainly for dirt roads and NorCal goat trails - crumbling one laners that were once paved, now crunchy. I love the R and won't part with it - it's my "regular road" bike an...
