Yea, it was the fuel line. Found a mechanic who works for a local dealership and works out of his house on Sundays and Mondays. Had him change every fluid on the bike, new tires, adjust the valves and put metal Q/D's on the bike. 7,000 miles and one oil change later and I am hooked for life on this ...

Good timing, Was just shopping for a warm weather jacket. Saw a jacket on Motorcycle-Superstore.com called Firstgear Rush. Waterproof and removable liner for about $170. Anyone know anything about the jacket?

Have the same bike, same color which I bought this year with just 8000 miles. I am thrilled with the performance and the attention I get even when it is parked. Posted on this site on April 22 that the bike just quit running. The problem was a separation of the fuel line in the tank. Found a BMW bike mechanic near my home who does some side work. Thanks, Kickstand is up. I will check the bolt. A lot of posts on this site refer to the fuel filter. Never heard the whining noise with the fuel pump until this issue occurred.

New today. Just bought an R1150 R 2002 with 7800 miles. Riding into work today and the bike just quit, like it ran out of gas. Checked fuel pump fuse and seemed OK. Just joined. Bought a used 2002 R1150 R with 7800 miles. Riding to work today and the bike just quit, like it ran out of gas.
