Re: new owner -- 2004 R1150R
It does indeed have a Corbin seat -- not sure how it is trick, as I have never seen a Corbin up-close before. I do know it fits like a saddle -- very comfortable. Dropping the bike off in the Am to have it gone over. Went and bought a new helmet this AM -- a Shoei RF1100 to replace my ten year old??...

Re: new owner -- 2004 R1150R
I have not checked the ties, but in the service records I saw that the quick-connects have already been replaced (one started to leak in 06 when the bike was 2 years old.)
I'm hoping BMW phased that little part out of future line-ups?
Thanks for the advice

Silver. I'll post some pics after I wash a year's worth of garage neglect off it this weekend.
I plan on doing my own regualr oil / valves/ etc but am taking it to a shop this weekend to have it gone over, as I don't know the bike well enough to trust myself spotting a crucial issue.

Re: Another try with fairing pics
love the fairing. I've had my bike for less than a day. Is that too early to start ordering things on-line?

new owner -- 2004 R1150R
Bought my bike last night. A 2004 R1150R with ABS and a Corbin seat. Has the hard bags too (although the pop-metal "fingers" that lock the bag down are broken on one case -- hope that is not a hard fix? I'll find a fiche file and see what the part is...). Came with the sport and the BMW To...

Re: buying R1150R - 20,000 service question from a newbie
That's the one! Same color, even, although mine was no where near as nice. Bought it for $1000 off CList, rode it a year, and sold it for $1,100. I have ridden for years but when I moved to LA was not sure I would ride here (as the locals treat motorcycles as targets.) I found out I will ride and th...

Re: R1150R Windscreen Adjustment
Is this the Wunderlich spoiler you mention? http://www.wunderlichamerica.com/motorcycle/8110025.html I've never had a bike with any kind of fairing so am thinking of going with the BMW screen shown earlier in this thread and the wonderlich attachment. Any other options IO should consider, considerin...

Re: buying R1150R - 20,000 service question from a newbie
Thank you all for the advice and the info and thanks for the mechanic tip. I was going to ask something specific about mechanics but you beat me to it. I am pretty damn excited. Last bike (sold a couple weeks ago) was a 83 Honda Cb700SC -- a shaft drive upright ride that was a lot of fun but not ver...

Re: buying R1150R - 20,000 service question from a newbie
That helps a great deal. The bike is a one owner bike, and he has all the service records. I thought I had seen something about a 20000 service, but a delayed 18000 sounds good. When I see the records I wanted to make sure the bike was not due a $1500 service or something crazy. At that price a $600...

buying R1150R - 20,000 service question from a newbie
Hi all -- I am buying a 2004 R1150R, ABS, Corbin seat, a couple windshields, hard bags, decent tires this weekend. LOVE the bike and have been looking for the right one for a while and think I have found it. Couple questions -- does the price seem right at somewhere just under $5,000? With the add-o...
