Idle is definitely rough. I am told it will smooth out after a few more thousand miles.

3750? No, that is OK.

I have a R1150R, and have used the entire Gerbing suit (glove liners, jacket liner, pants, and socks) for hours riding, and the electrical system was fine. I use the accessory plug, and the Gerbing Thermostat. Is the R1200R less of a workhorse electrically? The issue isn't the power the bike can pu...

You can wire directly to the battery; this gets around the CANBUS controller. I think the Gerbing's wire has a fuse in line, so you rely on that, or put in a fuse box while you are in there. I thought the auxiliary outlet was standard. If your bike has it, then look on the left side at about the mid...

The stock number? It should be different, but I don't recall off the top of my head where it is on the seat.

I have the same measurements as you. (Errr, at least that you posted.)

The tall seat is the way to go. Until you get an aftermarket seat. I haven't posted about mine because I have yet to put enough miles on it. In either case, to keep your knees and hips happy I recommend a tall seat.

I would love to join you guys, but that weekend is taken. The inaugural [first, anyway] Marine Corps Half Marathon is that weekend in Frederickburg, VA. I'm signed up and I'm running it.

Scotchbright pads used in the correct direction match the matt finish on the pipes (they are stainless steel, not chrome) Stainless steel = BMW Chrome=Harley ! Chrome is an option. Haven't seen one - but probably looks nice for a while.. The chrome looks great after a couple of thousand mil...

I like the BMW tank bag for the R1200R because... well ... because...

Its the only thing on the bike that says R1200R?

[Actually, its an OK tankbag.]

Unless your better half is excruciatingly petite, 2 up on an R12R isn't going to work. The rear seating area is a joke. Perhaps with an aftermarket seat you could get something reasonable.

OTOH, I haven't ridden back there. I don't plan on it, either.

I have it velcroed to the inside front of my tankbag. After wondering how to mount it, I realized I wouldn't be riding where I would need the EZPass (FastToll, etc.) without the tankbag. It has always worked. In VA, at least.

I am 6'1" with a 34" inseam. The P24 is kinda working. When sitting normally behind it, or shifted forward a little, there is some mild buffeting. However, the total noise is less than in a clear stream of air. It will work in the cold season.

I am waiting for my Mayer seat to arrive. I've tried the standard and tall seats: No thanks. The problem isn't that I didn't wait for the seats to break in, the problem is the seats are too narrow. I guess I have a wide stance.

[Old joke, I know.]

Continuing the screen thread

I almost started a new thread, but what the heck... I received a Parabellum replacement windscreen (24") the other day. Today was my first chance to ride with it. Below 50 mph there is some noise. Actually, I can hear the engine a lot more since the screen reflects the sound. BTW, I always ride...

Another thumbs up for no screen. In fact, I took off the small, stock, sport windscreen to make it even quieter.
