Re: 2002 ABS and Clutch failures
Thank you for your comments. I do know how to perform regular maintainence on my 1150. My previous ride was a 95 1100GS. I put 50K on that one and did all scheduled upkeep on the motorcycle myself. I had no problems with that motorcycle except for occaisonal throttle surge at low rpm. I really like ...

2002 ABS and Clutch failures
Hello Have been reading articles posted on the internet by Affordable Beemer Services. They also have maintainence film clips posted on youtube. I currently have an R1150R with ABS. I have 12k on the machine. I bought it new and didn't ride it as nearly as much as my previous BMW motorcycles. It has...

Dear Vitamin C
Thanks for your prompt reply! It is a shame. When my K75 was out of warranty BMW fixed a fuel injection problem free of charge. Oh well!

servo brakes success stories
hello I have learned that the servo/abs machines sometimes have had a servo failure at mileages as low as 25k. I made a posting that asked if anyone had this problem and there were zero replies. I would really appreciate to hear from anyone who has a BMW with the servo brakes that has had no failure...

hello O have an 02 R1150R with the servo "power" brakes. I have recently learned the servo breaks after only having around 25k on the machine. I recently took my bike out of storage and it works fine. I have 12k on the bike. Has anyone experienced failures of the servo unit at low miles? I...

engine oil 1150R
hello I am wondering if it is ok to use non synthetic oil 20w50 in my R1150R - it would be for a short period of time as eventually I would use synthetic in the future. The machine has been in storage and recently "revived". However, living in New England is a very short riding season and ...

clutch and driveshaft spline issues
hello I have a 2002 R1150R with ABS and the linked braking system. There is a shop in New Hampshire called Affordable Beemer Services that claims BMW has incorporated shoddy workmanship into the oilhead models. He says that the linked braking system is junk and that it will on the average last about...

final drive problems
I just read an ad on e bay for a 2002 r1150r abs with 68k on it. the owner stated that he had the final drive replaced at 30k. was this model noted for having final drive failures at such low mileages? I have the same model with only 10k on it that I recently took out of storage for the past four ye...

I have a 1150 r with abs. I havent used the machine since 2007. I drained the fuel tank back in 07. Recently I asked my dealer how much it would cost to make it road ready again. He said that he said he would most likely have to replace the fuel injectors and the fuel pump. I know for sure that I ne...
