Re: Adding A Screen
I'm using a speedster screen: http://www.bmw-motorrad-store.com/media/catalog/product/cache/9/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/v/7233_0.jpg Works like a charm up to 100~110kmpu. I'm 1,92m (think 6 foot something) tall, takes away most of the wind on the uppertorso. Arms & shoulders are e...

Re: sidebag compatability
Hmmm, that sounds cheap. Useally BMW pannier cases go for around 200 euro (poor condition) to 300 euro (excellent condition).
I always keep my eye out for them, especially the rightside case. Gives you a bit more space, easy enough to store some extra's.

Re: Knobbys on an RT
Used to ride on conti trail attacks on my GS. Perfect for paved roads & more than do-able on gravel. It's not really a nobby tire but has the big profile. I assume they sell them in all sizes: http://jrozar.smugmug.com/Other/Tires-2/i-XshDxWd/0/L/20130306_134013-L.jpg From left to right: Anakee ...

Re: rain pants?
I use a laminated bicycle suit if it's pouring outside. Lightweight, keeps the body heat all zipped up.
Fit's underneath the seat perfectly.

Post a few close ups, else it's kinda hard to judge. Useally brake fluids damage paint after a while. You should also notice the smell. Brake fluid has a distinctive smell/taste compared to drive shaft/gearbox oils. Latter useally smells a bit like cat wee... Owned 5 boxers, never had that...

Re: more than 50K mileage on r1150gs
I clocked in about 100k kilometers on my GS. No big issues to be honest. One seal started leaking between the engine & clutch. About 60 euro in parts (seal + 6 torgue bolts) & 4 to 5 hours labour. BMW changes 11 time units (+/- 9 hours), I got it done by a dutch forum member. Heard some stor...

Re: How to post a photo?
I'm probably a complete tool, but can't get this to work. Uploaded pics to Picasa Web. When posting the board gives me an error saying it can't determine the picture size.
Tried uploading pictures with different picture sizes, no luck.
Maybe Picasa masks some information?

Re: Welcome New Members (and old) - Introduce Yourself!
Just a quick note from a new R1150R owner from the Netherlands. My name is Laurens van Deijk, 31 years old & have been riding for the past 12 years. Mostly on Beemers, and even more often on boxers. Officially still owning a K1200RS, upcoming saturday I'm picking up a black '01 R with roughly 21...
