Re: '04 R1150R ABS Servo

I do know they used some different servos depending on the year. I wonder if that would explain why some people's are acting differently.

'04 R1150R ABS Servo

This past week I replaced the brake shoes on my wife's '04 R1150R w/ABS. I followed the instructions to a 'T'. It's been a while since I had my '04 RT with servo, but I think I might have a servo problem on the '04 R. When I push the rear brake pedal all the way down (bottoms out), the servo stops. ...

Kickstand baseplate

Has anybody seen a baseplate that expands the size of the kickstand base? I've seen them for the GS, RT, but never for the R series. That rinky-dink base certainly doesn't give my wife confidence when we're out in sandy/dirt areas. Can't say I blame her. Thought I would see if I could find something...

Re: Local BMW Clubs

What, you guys find time to ride? I spend all my time talking about riding my bikes, not riding. Our local club has a weekly Saturday breakfast. Usually there is a ride that goes along with it. There are also planned rides throughout the summer to much longer places. However, the local clubs a...

The Clymer manual for the R1150 series (R, RT) has the wiring diagrams in it. I don't know how accurate it is, but best I can tell (from using it with my RT), it is accurate.

I went with the TC40 for my wife's R. I'll post some pictures for you this weekend. The only caveat is that I didn't go with the HB mount a lot of people here went with. I used the SW Motech mount. The upside is it is very sturdy. The downside is you loose your BMW case mounts. If you aren't using B...

Anyone else have a right side case they would want to sell? I have a set of two... I replaced them with Hepco-Becker bags. We bought the R1150R used and the previous owner did the slam down on the lock when the lock tab was in the locked position, so it is broken. Thus, I'll make a good deal on the...

And you win the prize. That's what the problem was! Replaced the tail light and the warning led went away.

I'll give it a shot. The dealership is actually only about 4 blocks away from my work. I'll stop by after work and pick up a bulb and see what happens.

Thanks!

Wayne, Are you are talking about the universal triangle symbol with an exclamation point inside located at the bottom of your instrument cluster? If that remains on, it means your rear brake light needs to be replaced. Replacement bulb is a 12V 21/5W. That is the indicator LED. But I'm puzzled. The...

It does have ABS. I thought the ABS system had it's own LED... ??? This is the red LED closest to the bottom. Is that the ABS warning indicator?

Instruments LED meanings

Somewhere I saw where somebody posted the meaning of the LEDs and what it meant on a R1150R when certain LEDs came on. I can't seem to find my owner's manual and I've searched through this board without much success... I'm trying to find out what the universal warning triangle LED remaining lit mean...

Canister relocation

I also posted this on another board, but thought maybe some of you would have ideas. First, I don't want this thread to turn into the whole charcoal canister removal pros and cons thread. I'm trying to find out if anybody has relocated their canister and if they did, did they do it using somebody's ...

Re: Same Conundrum

So far the best option I've seen (emphasis on seen- not touched, fondled, used or ridden with) is the Hepco & Becker. It looks the part and is positioned so the passenger has room to lean back. They're not cheap. I just installed one on my wife's R1150R and from what I've seen it is the best op...

This is true for my GPS speed vs. my RTs speed, so I don't think this is purely something only the R versions have. This seems to be across the board.

The Journey TC40 holds 1 full face helmet. I don't know about the TC50.

Topcase Install begins

I'll post some pictures when I get done. Last night the UPS man dropped off the Hepco & Becker TC40 topcase for my wife's R1150R. I have to work today, but I should get around to installing it on Sunday. The bad news is I forgot to order the backrest for the trunk, so I'll have to do that.
