Perhaps, but my faith was shaken even before the snow started to fly here. I found myself looking back at a string of beautiful Fall days and saying, "WTF? Why didn't I even think of riding?" There comes a time when a cowboy has to face facts and be willing to hang up his spurs. Waiting ti...

R12R: Thinking of Selling

Hi guys. I'm posting this here in the hopes of getting some input on the best way to do an unpleasant thing—that is, selling my R12R. There's nothing wrong with the bike and I have no complaints, I just thought returning to motorcycling after a number of years off, the 5,000 miles I put on my...

I'll risk another comment regarding dragging the center stand. Susension may have something to do with it, but riding technique can also have something to do with it. Quick turn-ins with counter-steering require less lean angle. Not using a quick turn-in with counter-steering will require more lean...

So, max out both pre-load and damping and work back? I will try the measuring thing. I would rather have a harsher ride that's properly damped than a barcalounger on wheels.

Let me know...

THANKS

Center Stand Touchdown

Had a little bit of a scare last night when my center stand touched down on a turn last night with my wife on the back. Does that mean I haven't dialed in enough pre-load (more = tighter, right?) I'm having trouble determining the best place for my pre-load for a 370lb load. I don't have anyone arou...

HELP: Need a good photo of R1200R Tank Graphics

I debadged mine the day I bought it, but I'm interested in having a custom leather patch made for the sleeve of my jacket using the design. If you've got a nice, big, direct photo of one laying around or you're willing to snap one special, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks guys...

FWIW, I found that removing the sport screen created a noticeable difference in wind pressure at speeds of 60mph+. Much more than I expected from such a small screen. I much prefer the look of running without it, but I have to say I find myself spending more energy riding without it. Anyone else hav...

Over the years, I've done my fair share of fooling around with exhausts on BMW cars and motorcycles in search of "sound and fury." Has the aftermarket fully resolved the issues of bypassing emissions on these brainy bikes? I seem to recall issues doing that with mine, but time has passed. ...

Are you guys sending your bikes to across the pond here, or taking EU delivery of new machines and riding? Or is there a tour company I need to look into? Wow.

I love this color so much I want to paint my Mini Granite Grey! Anyone know if this paint can be bought through the dealer? That would be a perfect color for a MINI. The question is: stripes, or no stripes? I would vote none, but flat black stripes would look cool...as would a set of graphite/gunme...

Re: Hyperpro Springs

Available for $200 plus shipping. Hyperpor USA currently out, will take 3 weeks, Black Springs should be avail. SO. are the R1200R shocks good enough, to just be re-sprung w/ hypers version of a progressive spring? $200 vs $1,200 - $,1500+ hmmm An interesting question...perhaps too good to be true.

Photo's over here: http://r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=10228 I haven't placed the BOS badge on the can yet but kind of like it this way, here you can see what the endcan looks like with the badge: http://www.bos-exhausts.com/bmw-ned/index-bmw.html As for recordings I never heard one that did th...

If you get a full system there will be a hp and torque gain but if you only swap the endcan there's not mutch to be won(you sooner loose some hp) except for some weight saving. Personally I love the sound of the BMW twin with a loud pipe, I had the cat removed on the R1100S and open Laser endcans a...

The truth is, I've never seen/heard an aftermarket exhaust for a boxer twin whose looks/sound/performance make it worth the scratch. I'd love to be proven wrong, but these motors just don't sound that great opened up, unlike a v-twin or a triple. I agree, I was going to go for an aftermarket exhaus...
