Re: This may be normal, but...(clutch activation when cold)
Have you tried replacing the fluid and bleeding the clutch line. You might have some air in the line or in the clutch slave cylinder causing weird behavior when cold.

Re: Best tires
Gotta throw my 2 cents in here.... I'm running my second set of Pirelli Angel ST's and cannot say enough good about these tires on our bikes. They have the quickest turn-in of any tires I've had. They have what Pirelli calls their enhanced contact patch technology where the further you lean, the fla...

Re: 2003 R1150R Known Issues
Well, the more destructive failure mode of not changing out the quick disconnects is that the gas that comes pouring out will stain the engine (a sickly yellow coloration that's visible for miles), especially if it's hot already - there's really no way to wipe off the gas fast enough to keep it from...

Re: Windscreens
Hey Northbeach, my windshield from Cee Bailey's included a new set of mounting hardware with all the screws, cover washers, rubber grommets, etc. and they look exactly like the BMW set I had on my bike. I replaced them as the new set looked better.

Re: GPS mount on a R1150R
Instead of the SW-MOTECH GPS mount, just get the "Engage" tank bag with the GPS option. The gas cap lock ring is also required and purchased separately. I don't have the GPS option, but do have the Engage tankbag/lock ring and really like. Try this link to see the bag: http://www.twistedth...

Hey Northbeachboy, here's some pics of the Cee Bailey's 14" sport screen ( in light gray, should have gone with the darker gray...) http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad264/sigsauerkraut/motorcycle/DSC00004.jpg http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad264/sigsauerkraut/motorcycle/DSC00006.jpg http:...

Re: Trunk for R1150R
Here's what the Emgo box looks like mounted. It ain't real pretty, but it's functional, keeps things dry even in heavy rain and is really inexpensive. It seems to mount solidly on the stock luggage rack. http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad264/sigsauerkraut/My%20Motorcycle/DSC00003.jpg I've taken i...

Re: Looking at a 2004 R1150R and 1997 R850R
As a new rider, don't let the size/hp of the larger 1150 be a deterrent. You'll be glad you you went with the larger bike in very short order. Also, being 7 years newer than the 850, you'll find parts and accessories easier to find. The sportier styling of the 1150 is a real eye-catcher and everyone...

Re: Another Windshield Question
Go with the Cee Bailey's 14 inch windscreen. I'm 5' 11 and this windshield is the best I've owned for this bike. It's way less buffeting than the BMW touring screen I had on before. It ships with the BMW mounting bracket set (in case you didn't have it before), so you can always get a backup BMW tou...

Re: Has anyone ever replaced fuel distributor?
Boxer,
Man, thanks for the reply! You've at least given me some confidence that maybe even a mere mortal like me can get this fuel distributor installed. I guess I'll dive in and see if I can disconnect the cables from the TBs without completely hosing this up
Wish me luck!

Has anyone ever replaced fuel distributor?
Had to drop my bike and apparently kicked the fuel line feeding the left side injector. It snapped off at the bracket. I don't see anyway to fix other than to replace the fuel line (part of that spidery contraption they call a fuel distributor). Has anyone ever attempted to replace the distributor? ...

Re: Time to Change the Winter Coolant
Quick question for the experts here on the forum about summer coolant - what SPF rating do you recommend for driving in the southern tier states? Also, I tend to burn easily - is it better to install highway pegs or just continue to lay my legs up on the jugs during summer cruising? Thanks for your ...

Now, getting back to the discussion of the Pirelli Sync's, did you note any unusual wear or different handling due to running the wider rear (180 vs 170). I've heard that different brands feel different when running slightly larger due to bulging of the tire sidewall. Was it better or worse than the...

Snowprick, do you ever travel north of Manila like to Baguio City? I spent several weeks there a few years back and it has some beautiful twisties and lots of elevation change. It would be a dream location to ride your roadster....... and it's very much cooler than in the lowlands. Of course, the ri...

Check out Eurotech Motorsports as this URL:

The pic shows the emblem as black, but the site says they can't show the actual BMW roundel that is shipped with the triple clamp cover.
