Re: Air intake snorkel mod
Why not safe, 320mm brembos and piolli shocks with good tyres! I was intending to bolt the frame to the engine with real bolts not gaffer tape and bungie cords!!! No Offence intended but get out and play folks !! Bike is still running strong, i did 100 miles in heavy rain last month on motorways no ...

Re: Air intake snorkel mod
Indeed, Ducati would not be what it has been for the last 20 years if it wasn't for 'customer R&D' not to mention Triumph, Harley thingumybob, Moto Guzi etc. Lets face it these oilheads are great but no perfect by any means, they are overweight and don't breathe very well,, some of the ergonomi...

Re: Moving the battery
Thanks for the replys, my reasoning was purely to move the weight forward and hopefully down a fraction too, which as has already been pointed out is always a good thing. If i do i will try to do a few pics and a walk through guide. I do have to tinker with things, i always tell myself i am making i...

Moving the battery
Hi all, has anyone, or does anyone know if there is enough room to move the battery to where the ABS sits if no ABS is fitted ??
Sorry for being lazy but the garage is full atm so i don't want to remove the (full) tank just to check and measure.

Re: Could this be the end of the tele-lever era
Hmm..... some well considered comments here, as i said at the start i am completely on the fence with this and would still like a non-telelever on as well but at £11k i will have to build one myself :( anyone London, Essex, Lincolnshire way sitting on a smashed boxer they would like to go to a good ...

Re: Could this be the end of the tele-lever era
I just wondered what people thought, i can take or leave telelever, its is a great setup and i like it on my BMW. would i want it on a Ducati, Triumph or a Harley, probaby not. It does seem tho that BMW are aiming at a new breed of customer, the tinkerer/developer/customiser dare i say Rockers/Biker...

Could this be the end of the tele-lever era
I just saw this, it may be old news for some of you but i was struck by this being the second boxer in a row with a conventional front end. http://www.motorradonline.de/motorraeder/vorstellung-bmw-r-1200-r/603130?skip=15#16-603320 personally i like the idea, i have been wanting to strap a Ducati fra...

Re: Waiting for my R850r/1150r Shocks from Hagons today
Ahh, busy week or 2, so Hagon Shocks,,,,,, really great! smooths out the low speed stuff stiffens nicely when you get quicker, and quieter, they dont make a racket when you hit a bump like the standard ones did on mine. all in all well worth the money, i would get the remote preload adjuster because...

Fast action throttle (please)
My R850R is great, but i am having trouble getting all the power quickly enough due to needing to twist the throttle twice to get it fully open, does anyone run a R1100s on here? how far does the twistgrip travel from stop to stop? Does anyone know of a way to make the throttle action faster?

Re: Rocking up the Rockster - Remus, tuning etc
I have an r850r mu, i fitted y pipe and remus can no baffle, cut off most of the air intake so it is more like a scoop and removed the tubes inside the airbox, I fitted a high flow filter and used a jumper for the cap, in my opinion it pulls stronger and harder thoughout the rev range, sounds great ...

Re: Air intake snorkel mod
I chopped mine off at the entrance to the airbox its basically a scoop now (r850r mu) and removed the tubes intruding into the airbox too. works fine for me, its running a highflow filter, de-cat pipe, remus revolution with no baffle (only loud when you crank it) and the steptoe fueling fix. You cou...
