Re: oil consumption

If you fill past the dot then it will burn more because it is over filled. But then if you don't it will be under filled quickly. Once again, this opinion differs from so many others that I'm skeptical of all. BMW manuals say fill it to the top of the circle, Leno says not, but every dealer I've ev...

babied bike

Yeah, this issue has been addressed everywhere, including here and everyone has a different opinion. Fill the oil to here, don't fill it at this point, pay attention to the manual, ignore the manual, shade tree guy knows more than trained mechanic. ect. ect. ad nauseum.... I've never babied this bik...

range

When my light comes on, I have a gal 1/2 US left. This usually happens around 150 miles after I fill up. I once went 209 miles between fill ups but that was out of nessesity as I could not find an open station in the middle of nowhere at night. The last few miles were nerve wracking to say the least...

oil consumption

Mine isn't quite as high as the upper limit of "normal" but it does burn it. I'm told that parking it on the side stand is part of the problem but that's not the whole deal. Mine will burn down to the middle dot then stay there for two or three thousand miles then it will burn half a quart...

tire pressure

I run the pressures recommended by both BMW and Metzeler which are the same. 36 psi front and 42 psi rear. I'm not an engineer, I do not design motorcycles or tires for a living so I figure maybe those that do know a bit more about it than I do. Not to mention that I'm quite happy with the handling ...

snappin' grinders

I do hang off the side and while I've yet to touch a knee on the Rockster, I get pretty close. I've snapped 2 peg grinders, ground center stand and my right side head gaurd has some road rash. That said, I'm no where near as fast as some folks I know. The Rockster is not a "sport bike" but...
