FJR 1300, left over 06 new. Shaft drive, big tank, comfortable, 120-odd RWHP, bags included, surprisingly light feeling. $4 grand under new 07 price,( yeah, I know, its a year old already) only difference is paint . Fits Just Right , for me anyway. (sorry couldn't resist it  ) I'll miss the Roc...

No offence taken, and I hope , none given. It's just that, time and time again, I've seen this happen. But, hell, more the merrier.I agree with everything you say re times to buy and sell. Even though our winter here is much milder than yours, bike sales do drop away--IMO, it's the best time to ride....

Lots of good discussion here, and I certainly agree with most of it * buy s/hand, and you lose less. Absolutely--particularly with cars, let someone else take the initial depreciation hit. Big believer in buying something 2yo, low miles, and cross the fingers. So why did I buy the Rock new? Heart, n...

Well, there's a reason you don't see a lot of BMW's on the road, and there's a reason that a lot of BMW dealerships have closed. They're not everyone's bag of tea. The demand for them is nowhere near as large as for Harley's and Jap bikes. A dealer may not want to give you money for it, but if you ...

I fell for it twice!! I tried to trade in my Rockster, no non-BMW dealerships wanted it. I got no calls trying to sell the bike myself. The only place that would take it was the BMW shop. I traded it for a KR, a year later they still have my Rockster, and they are giving away the KRs, so I will be ...

Why isn't it BMW's fault if they are devaluing my bike by that much over that period of time? Isn't high resale supposed to be a BMW strong point?Ok, not with Rocks. :( One dealer was of the opinion they must be trying to keep me, ie, higher value traded on one of theirs. They'll retail that Rock fo...

not happy with BMW....
I recently decided it's time to move on from the Rockster. As I've said before, I really need something more touring oriented, as I live a fair way from anywhere. All open road. I bought the Rock with my heart, not my head, and now it looks like I'm going to pay for that, big time. Interested in a p...

There is a certain amount of vibration inherent with a big twin, but, IMHO, BMW does a good job of keeping it manageable. Anyone who complains of bad vibration usually has something out of whack-throttle body synchronisation can have a very large effect. I used to swear mine had none, until I spent ...

Self-cancelling signals
Yes, indicators will go on indicating if you are stationary, but it doesn't seem to be based on actual distance travelled-mine always does 17 flashes before self cancelling, whether you are doing 60km'hr or 160, and that obviously precludes distance alone-I posted once before that I thought it was R...

There seems to be a rather common thread here--say whatever you like about numbers, looks, how your oilhead is fabulous, they've lost the plot :D Just don't ride one, it may alter your preconceptions  Except for johno. :) I think I predicted this last year on this forum  And yes, I ha...
