DJ-esque?

This is the only DJ-like test ride photo I have.

Ya know when DJ goes for a demo ride he takes all kind of neat pics . . . hint, hint.
Well, I'll see if one of the guys can put on some spandex and lipstick...then we can take a typical DJ picture.

I like it!

I rode one, too. We have three at our dealership here. I was impressed with the power and quick steering. The bike is quick and the motor feels strong - that must be torque. The bike steers quicker than my R1150R and does side-tto-side transitions more easily. It is a sportier bike all the way aroun...

I went to Putnam Park for a track day last weekend. The Rav4 towed a borrowed 6’ x 10’ enclosed trailer containing my Hawk GT track bike, two tool boxes, canopy, carpet, front and rear stands, cooler, rain tires and wheels, riding gear, etc… I was very pleased with the job the Ra...

I liked the new Rav4 because it had the combination of nearly 30 mpg highway and 3500 lbs. towing capacity. The only other vehicle with these attributes was the Saturn Vue V6, and after a test drive I liked the Toyota better.

My second choice might have been a Subaru Legacy wagon.

It's here

My new Pacific Blue Rav4 V6 Sport with the towing package arrived yesterday. I have put almost 300 miles on it. I like it very much, so far. Feels small, steers quickly, accelerates briskly and has a nice ride. It made short work of passing cars on a two-lane road. My wife thinks it's cute. I...

Oh, puh-leeze! What a bunch of fraidy cats. I guess I'm lucky with regard to temptation. I demo ride every bike I can. I like trying new things. It turns out that I don't like half the new bikes I ride. I like my Roadster, and it is paid for. That's all the armor I need against temptation. W...

ordered one

I just found your review, Gary. Thanks. Last week I put down a deposit and ordered a V-6 Sport 4x2 with the towing package. It seemed to be the great compromise vehicle. It should get decent fuel mileage, tow my bike and gear (and those of a friend) to the race track and it is small enough for easy ...

I did 63 miles in 4.5 hours once. Good cause, nice folks, too many stops for too long. It was an "interesting" experience. I will not be buying a Harley in this lifetime.

What Buell makes 120 hp stock? Their 1200 motors are rated at 103. http://www.buell.com/en_us/home.asp If there is a self-adjusting valve in the future of higher tech bikes, it might be electronically controlled. When that becomes less costly, we could see it spread the way fuel injection has. I jus...

OK - 42k miles and no problems to report. I just replaced the brake pads and shocks today. Other than that it has been gas, tires, oil and filters.

I have a "Unitarian Jihad" bumper sticker in the back window of my pick-up truck. One day I looked in the rearview mirror and saw three women in a minivan leaning forward and squinting. They were all wearing scarves on their heads, so I took them to be Muslims. Eventually they were laughin...

We bought one for my wife a few years ago. What a fun bike! Nothing flicks into corners like it. It has a decent fairing, upright bars for a sport bike and good fuel range. One of the best things is that you can run through the gears at the 14k redline, with the motor sounding like an Indy car, and ...

In warm weather, ditch the Gore-tex

You do not need a mesh jacket, just one that is not Gore-tex or similar oven wrap material. A good old fabric jacket will allow air to flow through. With ventilation zippers it's even better. The Rev-It and BMW jackets that have removeable breathable/waterproof (and windblocking) liners are warm wit...

Relativity, schmelativity

Wouldn't it be nice if 100 mph was fast enough for relativistic effects? We'd all be much younger. Long airline flights would suddenly be worth the bother. Too bad my watch didn't take the trip back in time along with the dashboard clock.

Mine runs backwards sometimes!

The clock on my R acts wierd. I finally caught mine running counter-clockwise the other day. I was chasing some friends down a fun road, in the midst of a high-speed pass of a car, when I looked down to check my speed and saw the clock's minute hand running rapidly backward. It reversed 40 minutes w...
