Brief brake outage - no error codes R1150RA - Problem Solved
the problem was diagnosed and attributed to a handguard placing pressure on the brake lever during ignition - this overrides the ABS / servo system into "off" - one the handguard moved away from the lever, the ABS / servo systems came online!

Brief brake outage - no error codes R1150RA
For about 2 minutes, my brakes reverted to "no servo" "no ABS" mode, same as if ignition was off. Then brakes resumed normal operation. During those 2 minutes, no brake alerts were lit. And subsequently I had the bike checked out on a diagnostic computer, and no error fault codes...

Re: R1150R For Tall Guy
I am 6'4" with 35/36" leg inseam. I have had a 2002 R1150R for about 3 months, and have been getting it ready for some long rides and tours. 1. I replaced the stock seat with the high BMW seat. I believe the high seat comes with Rocksters, but can be bought through BMW as aftermarket part....

Re: exhaust options - R1150RA
after a wait for the slip-on exhaust to arrive and finding a break to install it, I now have my Akrapovic exhaust - it does a great job smoothing out the engine as I apply throttle, at low RPM and high RPM - the torque seems less twitchy but more powerful - and of course the exhaust note is noteable...

Re: i want my electronics!
Thanks for the advice.
Likely I'll wire the adaptors for phone and GPS directly from the battery, and use a tankbag Powerlet fitting for the phone, and a RAM mount for the GPS.

Re: extending pegs and pedals - good idea?
Yes I've seen those online, but was concerned that lowering the pegs, shift lever and brake pedal would affect cornering / banking. That's the reason I was looking to extend the pegs / pedals out / away from bike in the left/right sense, but not in the up/down sense.
What do you think?

extending pegs and pedals - good idea?
I'm a big guy, 6 ft 4 in, 36 in inseam, so even with the BMW high seat, my R1150R is not that big. I'm planning some more extended rides and thinking of getting extensions for the pegs, shift lever and brake pedal to help me position my feet a little further out from the bike, for ride comfort. Any ...

exhaust options - R1150RA
I'm thinking of adding a Leo Vince SBK Evo II Carbon Slip On (#6338) exhaust to my 2002 R1150RA.
Does anyone have any advice on this add? a good idea? better alternatives?

i want my electronics!
I've just started biking and a 2002 R1150RA is my first bike. I'm planning some trips with my SO who's riding a 2008 F800ST, and we have fitted Cardo Q2 headsets on our helmets. The Q2's are great so far, high sound quality, voice activation works well, and my unit paired quickly with my iPhone! (on...
