Re: extra gas tank
What a great post. You, from the UK, seem to watch way more US B's than I of the US. But your point is well taken. I do tend to be too obsessed about LD riding, and since I just completed my goal of NJ to New Orleans (1322 miles) in under 24 hrs (by 10 min by the way) I think I have worked that obse...

extra gas tank
Has anyone outfitted their bike for long distance travel including a fuel cell? My rockster is perfect comfort-wise for all day travel, but I sure could use a few extra gallons of gas to make the distance I like to do. That and a larger windscreen would do the trick.

Re: zumo bluetoothing to scala
Well so far it's true. I can hear the mp3 music and even the gps directions, but not the XM.
My next step is to find out what a Wirevo is. Someone on ADVrider says that works, but I have no idea what it is at this time.
Thanks for the replyl

I saw a aux fuel tank fitted for and FJR by Dean Tanji. It looked really great and fitted so top was usable as a rack. Has anyone fitted a aux fuel tank to a rockster? If so, whose?

BUMMER!! Are you gonna feel naked when that bike sells. Been there and hated it. You know, last time I checked it only costs about $600 bucks to ship a bike across the pond, but then I could be outdated on that. Once you get to this side though you won't run out of riding room any time soon. Good lu...

LOWERED EXHAUST?
I lowered my can and fit a full sized bag one the left, but with the extension pipe it really looks ugly.
How to cover that up from the original cone to the can?
thanks

Fuel Consumption from bad to great
I had the same experience as Waas. First 7500 miles I was only getting around 38 to 40 mpg.
Now at 14,000 I get about 48 and can do just about 200 miles per tank.
Be patient.

Handle bars and other mods
I had a hip (or more specifically a butt) problem so bad I rode from NJ to GA laying on the tank with my legs straight back. Got home and put risers on a set of Roadster bars, lowered the foot pegs and got a sargent's seat. The next year road from NJ to St Louis - NO PROBLEMO!! I'm 58 but only 5'11&...

I'm interested in trying out a hack system and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I am mostly interesting in a more "safe" ride since I am recovering from a crash, and ease of handling and ability to handle long distances on them.
Thanks

Has anyone hooked up with a hack? I had a spill on my Harley and am still healing up and am thinking of going the 3 wheeled route.
Looking for some feedback as to compatibility with my Rockster and add'l safety.

Lowering muffler re full sized left side bag
HELP!! I bought the hardware to lower my muffler, then I crashed and burned on another bike and am laid up for a month or 2. My daughter, who has a 2001 roadster (older style) is leaving on a trip and I was wondering if anyone knew if the hardware I bought for my 2003 Rock will work on her bike. js

Skyline Drive & Blue Ridge Parkway
I first drove on the above 35 years ago with a 42 hp VW and hated the experience. In 2005 I took a chance and rode top to nearly bottom twice: once with an HD on my way to NM in June; the second time with the Rock with my son on his roadster in August. WOW!! If anyone on the East Coast does not take...

Hey sounds like a logical idea. I have a rock and just crashed and burned my HD, and have been thinking of a longt distance bike to replace one or both. So the RT is moving right up there. I love the idea of a 7+ gal tank and my son just moved to Falgstaff (I'm in NJ). So keep me (us) posted on how ...

I have been out on my rock and had the worst of times and the best of times. the worst was on the bike stock. My butt was so sore I rode from NJ to Savannah lying on the tank. then I switched out the bars for roadster bars, lowered the pegs and best of all got a Sargents seat, and now I'm set. Road ...
