Simple outline tattoo

I am thinking of having a simple outline tattoo of a bike, representative of my R1200R, - say 3 inches by four or thereabouts - on my arm or chest. I cannot find anything I really like and wonder if any one can make a suitable suggestion or send an illustration. It must be relatively simple and acce...

Re: BMW system 6 helmet

I have taken the plunge and invested in a new System 6 Helmet. So far I have done about 300 miles in it, mostly in wind and rain. My first impression is positive. It is certainly the quietest helmet I have ever had and has coped very well with side winds and heavy rain. When it has not been raining ...

BMW system 6 helmet

I am in need of a new helmet and am thinking about a BMW System six - does any one use one and if so what how do they rate them?

Low speed weave

Some of you were kind enough to read and comment the post I recently made under the heading of "Cee Bailey Screen" Following your advice that it could not be the screen causing the problem I booked the bike in at Alan Jeffries they checked the steering damper which appeared to be ok and co...

Re: Anyone drop/crash their R12R whilst with BMW cases fitte

One of my panniers came off whilst I was travelling at about 60 mph, it bounced along the road for some considerable distance before ending up in the ditch. I presumed that it would be smashed but was amazed to find it undamaged apart for some scratching. I was able to refit it there and then and it...

Re: Cee Baily screen

Thanks for your comments I will put the Cee Bailey back on and book my bike in at the dealers to see what they make of it. It is still under warranty so there should be problem in finding the fault.

Cee Baily screen

Over the past few months have been experiencing a steering weave at low speeds. I was advised that this was due to my front tyre being worn and as I done 7000 miles on the then current set I replaced both. This did not cure the problem and it was suggested that it could be down to my 22 inch Cee Bai...

Re: Flat Pannier Lids

Thanks for your response - it is in line with what I have discovered although as yet I have not been out in heavy rain so I do not know whether they are waterproof. Surprisingly we have had a very dry summer in England.

Small air pump

Since taking delivery of my R1200R Classic I find that, with the bike having spoked wheels and inner tubes, I am having to check and adjust the tyre pressures before each ride whereas with my previous R1200R I only had to do it every month. I would like to find a small air pump to carry with me for ...

Change to GS?

I have had my 1200R for six years,46.000 miles on the clock, no problems with it but I fancy a change and am thinking about a 1200GS.

Any comments from anyone who has ridden both would be appreciated.

Re: Hello from Yorkshire, UK

I thought that I would let you know that our Yorkshire roads are ready to ride again after the winter. I met up with some friends at Fridaythorpe on Tuesday and did just short of 200 miles round the Wolds. Heated grips and Hein Gericke's best kept the cold off, but I had to put the hose pipe on the ...

Re: R1200R comfort

I have just had my seat reupholstered after four years and thirty thousand miles and a general decline in comfort over the years, the only thing I can say is that I wished that I had had it done a couple of years back. I t is now a lot more comfortable and at my request it has been raised by an inch...

Re: Top box or side cases?

I would go for the panniers, I leave mine on all the time, they will take a helmet any plenty of other gear and do not compromise the handling even at motorway speeds. They hold all the gear I need for a long trip. I have had a top box but the locking mechanism failed on a continental trip and I had...

Has any one fitted bar risers from Wunderlich / Nippy Norman - if so are they as simple to fit as suggested or do any of the cables need extending?

I am thinking about getting an Air Hawk seat cover and would welcome any advice as to whether one, or something similar, would be appropriate and solve...

I have just returned from a holiday in France and had no problems with my 20 inch Cee bailey, travelling at a steady 90 mph on the Auto Routes, when fully loaded with panniers and top box.

Scuffed Pannier Lids

I have had my 1200R, from new, for nearly four years and have done 28.000 miles in all weathers. I have just given it a thorough clean and am, once again, pleased to see how well it has kept, the paint work is unmarked and the metal work is not showing any deterioration. However I can not get some m...
