Re: Getting better every time I ride it
Mrclubike, could you please tell me which or what K bike that front fender is from, and if you had to do much modification to mount it? I've seen a couple similar , but don't know how much rework it takes.

Re: Forum Functioning ?
I think riding in our current environment is less right now, even with the arrival of good weather. But perhaps that should mean more visits to the forum ? ? As for "no posts" I'm thinking perhaps we have such a vast knowledge base here -we're fortunate!- that it's just searched for soluti...

Re: True or false ?
Thank you, Soliton. Making the water manometer is an idea I've considered many times. It's reliable and affordable;cheap in fact for such a valuable tool. I've also read to run it up to 4000 rpm and check at the higher rpm, too. Some note using a fan to prevent overheating. I may just do that. Also r...

Bogdan, frequent is a play on words .Frequent = freak went.
I've left the wild salad days of my 70's youth :-)
As for the adjustment, I'm five minutes away from a mechanic who has the equipment. Very reliable and noted bike mechanic.

Re: True or false ?
Thanks,Photoguy,Buckster,Bogdan, and BadToTheBown. Bogdan, I did just as you did, including the new plugs. It runs great, better even, and the cam chain noise being gone is nice.I haven't read that it's recommended after valve setting, but after thinking about it a few days, I think I will anyway. Pur...

True or false ?
I just read this on a user page, and don't necessarily agree with it without any explanation provided. What are your experiences ? "Valve adjustment requires rebalancing of the throttle bodies." I replaced /upgraded my chain tensioner ,set my valves, and have had no issues. Any help appreci...

Re: Hand Grip Glue?
Just like everyone else, I used hairspray. But, have you thought to check if the grip is perhaps stretched from putting it on? I remember it was an easy job two years ago - but I did stretch the replacement( same style as original ) pushing and pulling it in to place. Mine rubbed a bit up near the h...

Re: Shinko 705 mileage report
I remember reading that you liked them for going on gravel. That's impressive mileage!
I'm going to consider them whenever these Metzlers wear out. .sometimes my '02 feels a little squiggly in the gravel.
Thanks for the updated mileage notice.

Re: Help ! Autoswitch A7 on my 1150R
Oh no. Wish I had known earlier. There are issues with running the A7 when a signal minder is already installed. The fellow I bought mine from ( a new unit) didn't put it on his GS because of the signal minder. There may be a work around. They are still in business down in Miami, and have a web page. T...

ZN just designates a zinc coating ,but I think Motorrad switched to a different plating method now.

Re: Help ! Autoswitch A7 on my 1150R
Well, so far I like it just fine. Added a USB charger up by my RamMount holder while I was in there ,too.I thought I screwed it up but I ha ha . .had put a burned out ATC fuse in the holder I added.Took ten minutes of probing to find that! Worked perfectly with a good fuse .Sunbeemer, you are right a...

It should be just what I want ,with no extra visible wire and a switch to stick somewhere. The lights on a relay is the way to go. I'll post my thoughts when I get it back together and try it out , Towerworker.

Re: Help ! Autoswitch A7 on my 1150R
I found the wire location and color ( brown, white stripe) on an 1150RT wiring schematic.Colors were the same in this instance .Wasn't in my manual schematic. Tested and got the short to ground when I tapped the cancellation button. The location from seated position would be near top of the tank if ...

Help ! Autoswitch A7 on my 1150R
I've just about completed driving light wiring on my 2002 model.Custom wired with soldered connectors and heat shrink. The A7 by Auto switch enables me to use the high beam flash or turn signal cancel switch to trigger the lights ; just press the turn signal cancellation switch for two seconds, and ...
