Re: Caliper Rebuild & Advice From Cyclerob
RadicalR1150R , if you would please,PM me that list for Tokico. I know they aren't widely used -our 1150's have the Evo 1's,and are found on a lot of early four piston sets used on 2000s Suzukis, such as SV1000s, GSX-R750. I'm gonna do the brakes again with a good caliper cleanup and figure it woul...

I'm just thinking out loud here . .with this skid plate on, would the 1150R be able to use a standard bike lift ?

Gotta go with CycleRob on this.
He has a vast knowledge base, the experience to go with it; detailed enough that it could be published.

Re: 2004 R1150R headlight assembly help
Not to take away from the OP post, but would you care to share the source & or part number for that LED replacement bulb? Thanks. Me? Sure. In my non-professional judgement and reading for too may hours , decided I didn't want a fan -cooled LED. They are noisy , and I can't imagine a fan spinni...

Re: 2004 R1150R headlight assembly help
You're prolly missing the chrome dome-head flat-screwdriver bolt that sits at the bottom of the nacelle. Hook the headlamp into the bowl with the lug at the top - swing the lamp downwards - screw the bolt upwards at the bottom of the assy into the bracket. You need to stand on yr head to do this ef...

Re: Brake rotors inquiry
I'm thinking if your fronts "feel almost as smooth as glass" then perhaps you have a stuckretracted piston or caliper/ fluid pressure problem. There shouldn't be any way you could get 79,000 on one set of pads with rotors staying so nice. Just a suspicion - but I would check it out .

[quote="EasyBee"]I've opted for the Givi topcase mount for Givi and other (Kappa) monokey cases. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/givi-topcase-rack-bmw-r1150r-01 Also at Revzilla https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-sr683-top-case-rack-r1150r-2001-2005 No drilling or cutting required, ju...

Re: Will GS hubs fit an R1150R
You may have success checking both 11XX and 1200R series "classic" models .They are roadsters like our 1150R's with factory wire wheels . I haven't checked interchangeability ,nor am I sure the "Classic" Rseries was sold globally . They do look nice! I noticed the Classic ...

Re: L.E.D. Headlamp
That's about 1.4X lumens over an H4. That would be great! The amperage reduction would be a benefit as well. Bad part is that L.E.D. lights have an emitter rather than a filament. Most of these emitters aren't aligned to project in a proper pattern through a HID bike headlight lens , especially a gl...

Re: Fuel disconnect sources
Thanks,/b] Peels. I can put that issue to rest. Man, I love this bike! I just retired (sold) my dirt bike last October and patiently searched for a road bike ,having a bit of traveling in mind. At 62 years of age ,picking up a 250 four stroke in the woods after dropping it three times was a chore ,...

Re: Fuel disconnect sources
Thank you,vwdoctor.
I appreciate your reply :-)
I knew I will eventually take the tank off so the disconnects were my first concern based on my reading here.
Today is the first day of Fall, and here in Illinois it's the primo riding season !

Re: Fuel disconnect sources
After worrying for a couple months, I checked my disconnects.Previous owner was meticulous with care ,and I thought "What if he already changed them to metal disconnects? " Sure enough . .but only the male halves were changed ,leaving the female halves with the push in detents original. Wo...
