Different front and rear tires?
I heard a guy mention that it is a good idea to put a soft tire on the front and a longer wear tire on the back. That way they probably will both wear out at the same time. Usually you will go through 2 rear tires for every one front if they are the same grade. Anybody do this?

I have always heard that mismatched tires could cause handling issues regarding the profile of the tire and turn-in as you lean.
I think it is a bunch of BS myself. If matched tire profiles are so critical to safety and performance, tires should be replaced before they ever square off, cup, or show any material change in shape!!
Many have ridden their tires to the cords, and have show the squared off rear with still good looking front. No one I know has crashed from this.
I guess like with any new set of tires, you need to be conservative the first 100 miles or so to get used to them.
I can't wait to see the possibilities of mixing soft and hard.
